The good old days:
This image came up as a memory from 2 years ago.
Sadly this year there were about 80 tadpoles in the pond, this image was when the pond was so full I had to put some into a fish tank to make room, it was like a tiddler soup out there.
Not sure what's happened to all the frogs and toads this year - it doesn't look good though.

Went on a successful squirrel hunt yesterday
Think the mild winter has helped them as I saw 8 within the hour suggesting numbers are up.
Might have been the same one following me around of course, running ahead, shimmying up a tree then waving. Oh how he must have laughed about it telling his mates back at the squirrel pub last night.

Sorry Alt txt not working🙁

This windmill is close to the village of St Monan named after the saint who was killed by Danes in about 875. St Adrian was killed on the Isle of May in the same raid along with 6,000 locals
The windmill is a modern build based an earlier mill standing since the 1700's.
The windmill pumped sea water into rock cut reservoirs for salt production for hundreds of years

Horrible Histories
The passing of the Witchcraft Act 1563 made witchcraft, or consulting with witches, capital crimes. The first trial under the new act was the North Berwick witch trials, beginning in 1590, in which King James VI played a major part as "victim" and investigator.
Image shows what remains of St Andrew's chapel, North Berwick, site of that infamous 'gathering'

Late.
But not too late!
You know what it is too late for?
The 400 + year old oak felled in London recently.
400 + years of living, giving and vitality.
Fucked in a moment.
On a whim.
This matters.
It hurts us all.

Bumblebee nests are notoriously difficult to find in the #wild.
This can hinder population surveys of #bumblebee species as nest density is used as an indicator of populations.
