Florian<p>Anyone proficient with <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/WSL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WSL</span></a> and <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/vmware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vmware</span></a> based virtual machines ever figure out a way to run both in tandem? I know Vmware workstation v15.5+ should be able to run Vmware machines even with <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/hyperV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hyperV</span></a> enabled, and it can, but they are absolutely dog slow. like ... easily 5-10 times as slow as they'd otherwise be. I know I can just turn hyperV off and on or use WSL1 but toggling hyperV to my knowledge requires a reboot each time, and WSL1's filesystem IO is pretty horrendous as well. Nick Danger<p>Yeah! Good news. I got the vmware.vms plugin to work, and I can get an inventory! Nice. Not great part? The password is in my yaml inventory file in plaintext. I've tried using an ansible-vault/variable but I get "Failed to parse /home/ansible/inventory.vmware.vms.yml with auto plugin: 'vmware_password' is undefined. 'vmware_password' is undefined:" How do I get the inventory variable as either a vars_prompt or a vault variable? Die Aussage vom #Broadcom CTO in EMEA, dass der Preis fuer VMware zu hoch sei, weil viele nicht alle Features nutzen finde ich witzig. Ich stelle mir vor, ich bin ein Unternehmen nutzte vorher alle Features von #VMware z.b. von vSphere und muss jetzt 150% mehr bezahlen ... dann habe ich den kompletten Vendor-Lock-In und komme so schnell nicht weg und muss einfach nur mehr zahlen.
