Let's watch Americans complain endlessly about the flood response in Texas while doing absolutely nothing to change anything or hold anyone meaningfully accountable.
People in power are not affected by complaining. People in power are not affected by peaceful protests. If they can safely ignore it, then it won't change anything.
The only way to change things is to make it so hard to abuse power that it stops being worth the effort.
This man is is threatened in Afghanistan because of his human rights work. The Taliban are in power there due to America, his life is threatened due to America. His family is here in Canada.
Why aren't we helping him?

CBCCanada won't let this Afghan refugee in from the U.S. His family worries the Taliban might kill him back home | CBC NewsA U.S. judge has granted Mohammad Younesi permission to travel to the Canadian border to claim asylum. But his petition to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for a permit to make that happen was rejected.
ICE's death toll is now at least one.
Sadly they're probably proud of that fact.
And a disabled US veteran who was dragged from his car is still missing with his family unable to get answers.
How can anyone think of this as "winning?"
