Dear Fedizens, I'm looking for a tool which allows me to enter a few dates and times, send it to some people and let them pick one. If a date and time is picked by someone nobody else can select it anymore.

Ich bin ein stink normaler User. Ich habe seit einiger Zeit eine neue Distro. Eigentlich schon länger, aber ich bin halt ein stink normaler User.
Ich will gerade ein Bild aus dem Netz umwandeln, weil .webp erfahrungsgemäß Probleme macht. Ich erinnere mich an den Befehl "convert". Zu meinem Glück ist der bei Manjaro von Haus aus verfügbar. Er funktioniert auf Anhieb, aber ich erhalte folgende Meldung:
"...
WARNING: The convert command is deprecated in IMv7, use "magick" instead of "convert" or "magick convert"
..."
Super. Jetzt muss ich in Zukunft also wieder etwas neu lernen. Irgendeinen guten Grund wird es dafür schon geben. Aber wie wäre es mal mit einer richtig guten Idee;

Könnte bitte jemand dafür sorgen, dass ich dafür keinen Befehl in ein Terminal eingeben muss, sondern im Kontextmenü der Datei die Möglichkeit zur Umwandlung finde? Geht das? Ich spende der Distro die mir das ermöglicht auf der Stelle 20€ und mache Werbung für sie.

Here's something I find rather #annoying when it comes to #operatingsystems and their public image. I had to install both Windows and Linux on a machine, and I want you to determine which was #userfriendly #Windows and which is #Linux:

OS 1:
Attempt to download the ISO from the manufacturer's website
Get through all of the prompts just to be denied the download
Realize that your adblocker is causing the manufacturer's website to see you as a threat, so you turn it off
Still denied
Realize that your LAN's DNS server which also blocks ads is causing the problem too, so you turn it off
STILL DENIED
Use a completely different browser and get it downloaded
Run the installer, but it sees no disk drives in the machine
IRST must be loaded before the installer will continue
"Driver install error"
Find a 3 year old copy of an ISO because you're a pack-rat data hoarder
Finally get it installed
Spend the next 6 hours updating

OS 2:
Download from manufacturer using torrents, utilizing all of your bandwidth
Install OS

My sister is looking for a new tablet. Can anyone recommend a user friendly, inexpensive Android tablet with decent build quality? No nerd stuff, really something you would give your grandmother – no tech knowledge whatsoever. Something with a good "bang for the buck" ratio. Re-posts and boosts very welcome!

One of my friend is trying mastodon rn, he tried to subscribe to an account and had the message "to continue, you need to follow from your account" (image below in french)

I sometimes have this problem as well when I click on a link to add a new tab, and suddenly I'm not on my server anymore and I am asked the same thing !

Isn't there a way, when you already have an account that you use all the time, to stay connected ?

Whilst probably the majority of online people would have no idea what I am talking about, I am still drinking from the Pitr “What evil shall I do today?” mug.

Userfriendly was the first web comic I followed, and I am pretty sure the mug was my first online purchase of anything.

I miss the days of the dustbunny.
