Damit sind für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland nicht nur Vorzüge wie ein hoher <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Besch%C3%A4ftigungsstand" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Beschäftigungsstand</span></a> und <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Wohlhaben" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wohlhaben</span></a> von einem Großteil der eigenen Bevölkerung verbunden, sondern auch Pflichten gegenüber der eigenen und auch der <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Weltbev%C3%B6lkerung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Weltbevölkerung</span></a>.</p><p>Zudem liegen die <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/CO2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CO2</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Emissionswerte" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Emissionswerte</span></a> zwar bei gegenwärtig 1,95% und sind im Vergleich mit <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/China" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>China</span></a> und den <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/USA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>USA</span></a> als geringer, aber nicht als geringfügig, einzuschätzen. Vielmehr ist die BRD im Vergleich der anderen Staaten der EU Spitzenreiter beim Ausstoß von CO2.</p><p>Es kommt mir zynisch vor, wenn der aktuelle Bundeskanzler <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/merz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>merz</span></a> meint, das erstmal andere, größere Staaten etwas gegen den <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Klimawandel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Klimawandel</span></a> tun sollten, bevor die Bundesrepublik Deutschland in 20 Jahren mal anfängt, richtige umweltpolitische Entscheidungen zu treffen.</p><p>Alle <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Staaten" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Staaten</span></a> die proaktiv an die Beseitigung des Klimawandels herangehen, verzeichnen ein jährliches <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Wirtschaftswachstum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wirtschaftswachstum</span></a> zwischen 6 und 10%.</p><p>Nur die aktuelle <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/GroKo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GroKo</span></a> kann sich nicht entschließen durch gezielte <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Wirtschaftsf%C3%B6rderung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wirtschaftsförderung</span></a> im Bereich der <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/%C3%B6kologischen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ökologischen</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Transformation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Transformation</span></a>, ein entsprechendes <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Wirtschaftswachstum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wirtschaftswachstum</span></a> zu generieren. Stattdessen werden neue <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Kraftwerke" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Kraftwerke</span></a> gebaut, die in großen Mengen <a href="https://mastodon.de/tags/Erdgas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Erdgas</span></a> verheizen.</p>

Fernando Racimo<p>What would it look like for our universities to be "radically abundant"? </p><p>What if they were noot governed by logics of scarcity and precarity, but instead were centered on conviviality and sufficiency? What would it look like if they were actually run democratically, and actively working towards dismantling the structures of power that fuel climate breakdown, genocide, fascism and war?</p><p>Most importantly, how do we get there?</p><p>Our new paper "Degrowth and decolonisation in academia: Intersecting strategies towards transformation" provides a contribution towards answering these questions.</p><p><a href="https://www.degrowthjournal.org/publications/2025-07-09-degrowth-and-decolonisation-in-academia-intersecting-strategies-towards-transformation/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">degrowthjournal.org/publicatio</span><span class="invisible">ns/2025-07-09-degrowth-and-decolonisation-in-academia-intersecting-strategies-towards-transformation/</span></a></p><p>We present a vision for an academic system centered on public provisioning and communal sharing, rather than the currently dominant state of artificial scarcity.
