IHC<p>📖 For centuries, Lorvão (Penacova) was the Portuguese capital of <a href="https://masto.pt/tags/toothpicks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>toothpicks</span></a>.</p><p>As the authors recount in this article, tradition of handmade white willow toothpicks began in the Monastery of Lorvão during the 17th century. From the monastery, the craft extended to the local population.</p><p>The paper provides an historical overview and shows how the famous and award-winning toothpicks are made.</p><p><a href="https://ethnobotanyjournal.org/index.php/era/article/view/5938" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ethnobotanyjournal.org/index.p</span><span class="invisible">hp/era/article/view/5938</span></a></p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/histodons" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>histodons</span></a></span> </p><p><a href="https://masto.pt/tags/Heritage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heritage</span></a> <a href="https://masto.pt/tags/OpenAcess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAcess</span></a> <a href="https://masto.pt/tags/Ethnobotany" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ethnobotany</span></a> <a href="https://masto.pt/tags/Histodons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Histodons</span></a> <a href="https://masto.pt/tags/LocalHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LocalHistory</span></a> <a href="https://masto.pt/tags/Palitos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Palitos</span></a></p>

David B. Himself<p><span>I still wear a mask for four reasons:<br><br>1. I don't want to get sick (Covid, obviously, but I haven't gotten sick in four years, so not just Covid, especially this time of the year) If there was one lesson to learn from the pandemic, it's probably this one: masks make you healthier.<br><br>2. If I get sick, I don't want to spread my germs (this is an essential reason, and it's disheartening how it doesn't even cross the minds of so many Westerners).<br><br>3. As peer pressure is a huge deal in Japan, it's also a signal to my students who may want to wear a mask but are afraid to, that my classroom is a safe space for them to do it (not so much this time of the year, but in the Spring and Summer it's a different story).<br><br>4. OMG, I'm out of toothpicks and can't brush my teeth and that sesame seed is stuck between these two teeth!!! <br><br>All of these are true.<br><br></span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/Masks" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Masks</a><span> </span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/WearAMask" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#WearAMask</a><span> </span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/Covid" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Covid</a><span> </span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/CovidIsNotOver" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CovidIsNotOver</a><span> (and </span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/Influenza" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Influenza</a><span> season is here too) </span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/Toothpicks" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Toothpicks</a><span> </span><a href="https://firefish.city/tags/SesameSeeds" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SesameSeeds</a></p>
Thomas A. Hegna, Ph.D<p>Some of you may be feeling left out; why don't you have this most masculine of bones. Fear not: you can purchase them on ebay by the bagfull. Kara Shallenberg<p>I think I just realized an important distinction between searching and filtering. </p><p>Correct me if I’m wrong, but a SEARCH looks only for hashtags, while a FILTER examines all of the text. </p><p>So someone who is fascinated by toothpicks will only find this post if I include a <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/toothpicks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>toothpicks</span></a> hashtag, but a toothpick-phobic person with a “toothpicks” filter will be able to avoid this post if I merely mention toothpicks. </p><p>Sweet. I love it here. </p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/FediTip" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediTip</span></a> <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/ProTip" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProTip</span></a></p>
