Well, new mac is set up and fully (!) functional, and even the 14-month-long Time Machine issue on the iMac has been solved, so no more getting into safe mode just to run a backup.

Apple Notes were the problem, from when I uploaded more than a decade of exported Evernote files. So I've lost half of those, but now have Time Machine. So, big win.

After a few continuous days of this I'd like not to look at a computer again for a while...

So I just got a note, Dropbox is discontinuing Vault on 4 March, like, in six weeks. Am thinking perhaps it's time to find a better (EU-centric, perhaps?) storage provider... though getting it to work with KeePass may be ... interesting... unless somebody has a better idea for a PWmgr Linux/Mac/Android in which I have control of the data...
And then there's Authy, updating the Linux box, updating the Mac, and finding a new email provider... 😱 #enshittification #toomuch #linux #android #macos

Coming to New Zealand it became, for reasons I can no longer recall, a shower every morning. Some people I know have a shower when they wake up and shower before they go to bed, I don't know what they get up to during the day but it sounds very dirty.
