A late start today due to an excellent night's sleep - which may have been due to overdoing things during a frantic dash round the allotment between rain showers yesterday late afternoon.
If Sacha ever gets up she's off to her exercise classes this morning and U3A this afternoon, so I've got the house (and housework) to myself.

Wednesday has arrived all smiles & sunny disposition, but has a worried frown as if fearing their mood might change to tears later in the day.

Dishwasher has been emptied, laundry dealt with & breakfast consumed. Just sitting down with my coffee & considering what to do with the day.
There might be some gaming at some point I guess.

The wavy clouds left or flattened out by the time the sun set and it colored up tonight. Less wind this evening, more bugs. I picked some currants for the friendly young rooster and fed them to him, and gave him some ear and wattle rubs. A dragonfly was flying around doing whatever it is they do. No sea monsters seen. The brown bats showed up to eat some of the bugs. A yellow warbler did some singing. The stars and planets appeared in the sky.

One thing I love about Mastodon is that it has made me pay more attention to the world around me: thick trunks, doors, windows, mosaics, etc. And also benches, for @czarbucks.

There's nothing special about this bench in downtown Half Moon Bay, California — except the purple!

I made through all my chats #today in good order.

I even managed to arrive at the end of my work day with some energy left in the reserves. Which I will promptly deplete to make the drive to get our CSA share. At least the sun is shining and I can take the toll road for a less frustrating trip.

Picked berries too. There was about 8 lbs of blackberries taking up almost 6 quarts, and 1.7 kg of red raspberries that were less than 4 liters in quantity.

In hyper-local news #today is just really extra around here.

Well...just got a call from my doctor's office and the ultrasound showed everything is normal so no further tests until a blood draw in November to keep an eye on things...I am so relieved since I was really expecting liver tumors or cancer...so the celebration of my birthday week can shift into high gear...I even cut the beach trip short once the notice came up on my phone...so, I'm going to treat myself with some reading this afternoon...yay! Good afternoon!

Hi friends. #Today is Tuesday. #Henry is sprawled across my belly, sleeping like an angel. I love how he tucks his little paws in while he’s sleeping.

Except for a couple years during grad school, I’ve always lived with dogs or cats. They bring me such calm and happiness, I couldn’t have come this far without them. Now, when the world seems bleak, my fur babies still find ways to make me smile and feel grounded. It’s hard to think about anything else when a #cat is making biscuits on you.

#Today we had a good laugh. Some indie sax musician seemingly used software/service for phishing to send advertisements of his music which resulted in some silly, sketchy looking advertisement mail in our mailbox.

We checked thoroughly, but no malicious stuff. Just someone promoting their artist page on streaming services .

I won't name it, because I don't wanna promote it. But the mail was silly enough we had a good laugh at the office. No one here likes sax, so he didn't streams out of it.

#Today has found me out & about, discovering the way many find it acceptable to speak to receptionists, cleaning staff, so on. Surely there must be something—a moon phase? a retrograded planet or two?—to account for the utter social depravity I’ve witnessed this morning? Upon attempting consolation of those so assaulted, I learn: no, this is just what it is, every day. Every day.

We are a highly stratified city, but I’ve never witnessed such abuse leveled at those just doing their goddamn jobs.

Welp. With all these aches n pains n heat n stuff, #myday has turned into "Slough on the couch " Tuesday #today.

Popped enough pills to cure a dead horse, for my aches n pains, and threw in a heavy dose of PHUKITAL pills for good measure.

The wife felt sorry enough for me this morning to tackle the muggy-sticky outside to tend to the garden goodies harvesting for me. So, I'm left with just sitting n sipping and staying cool, dry n quiet.

My BP meds should start kicking in pretty soon, too, and allowing for a slip into a brief nap before lunchtime. So, something else pleasant n restful to look forward to.

My body is revolting this morning. My chronic upper-arm/shoulder hasn’t been happy since Saturday, and it’s reminding me #today.

And I woke with some nausea, but I think that’s going away. Which is good.

Good morning. We had very strong thunderstorms overnight. A lightning strike close by woke us up at midnight and from then on it was a fitful night of sleep.

We've got lots of standing water again, but though we are under a flood watch we fared better than areas farther north.

So far this morning the traffic at the bird feeders has been busy. That's keeping the cats (and me) entertained while I figure out the day. Hope your day's a good one!
