There were 2 versions #superman (main cannon) in the comics before. What they did here is brilliant. Using #love as a strongest force, like literally so strong it overcomes multidimensional treats.

This is the Superman Rebirth #reborn arc and I am glad Carnegie library in Oakland has it in the collection.

Saw #Superman. My heart feels so full. Easily the best #DC movie since the Nolan Batman films. As a DC guy, I've given up so much hope for the brand over the years. This is the first time I'm genuinely hopeful for the cinematic future of these comicbook characters that I love so much. Thank you, James Gunn. ❤️

#JamesGunn addresses the questions around #HenryCavill 's firing. He lays the blame for the situation on #DwayneTheRockJohnson trying to bully his way into commandeering the #DCEU .

Gunn calls Cavill "a complete gentleman" and says Cavill asked to be the first to break the news to fans.

Both Cavill & Gunn left the meeting with the understanding that Cavill could come back into the new #DCU as a different character.

Film Review: James Gunn’s Superman cements Israel’s villain status in the American imagination

> James Gunn’s new Superman movie, which draws an analogy between Israel and the villainous country of Boravia, demonstrates how Israel’s idealized image in American culture has been shattered by the widespread acknowledgment of Palestinian oppression.

Still from James Gunn's "Superman" showing Metropolis falafel vendor, Malik Ali, helping Superman during his fight with the villain, the "Hammer of Boravia."

Krypto the Superdog: Superman’s Four-Legged Hero Finally Gets Big Screen Debut
In James Gunn’s fresh spin on Superman, there’s one unexpected hero grabbing both screen time and fan attention: Krypto the Superdog. While longtime comic fans know all about Superman’s four-legged best friend, this new movie pushes Krypto out of the sidelines and into the spotlight....

I saw polarized reviews for Superman but the best endorsement comes from Fox News which slams the movie as being "Superwoke" for embracing "pro immigrant themes" LMAO. Apparently the movie "went woke" because Fox News just found out that Superman is a refugee alien who arrived in the U.S. without papers

I recently posted Paul Harris' negative review of "Superman."

Here's a more nuanced appraisal from Abigail Nussbaum at LGM: "This #Superman is a bit of a hothead — someone with good, sympathetic impulses whose consequences he often doesn’t know how to deal with."

"Gunn’s Superman does a lot of things right ... But when it comes to Superman himself, it spends more time promising than delivering":

Lawyers, Guns & Money · Superman - Lawyers, Guns & MoneyJames Gunn’s Superman begins in its second act. Halfway through that act, in fact, with Superman (David Corenswet), having just been trounced by an opponent, taking a breather to recharge his strength in the Fortress of Solitude, and then rejoining the fray in Metropolis. In quick succession over the next few scenes, we learn: that Superman has […]

Did Superman call out Israel?

Some are calling the superhero #film the most overtly political studio blockbuster in years, with references to Israel's war on Gaza and #US #immigration policy

A pro-Israel post on Reddit:

“Have you all seen the new #Superman movie? I find it so disrespectful and distressing that a superhero created by two #Jewish artists is now being used to promote anti-#Israeli messages to the world… I can't understand how this was green-lit at a time like this with global antisemitism on a rise...

Users responding on Twitter wrote: “It’s so funny that they instantly recognize that the movie is about Israel’s genocide in #Gaza without being told and yet still have the temerity to get offended and express their indignation in public. It’s like how come you know the evil murderous villains are #Israel, guys?”
