#stuff

I saw a new Executive Self Storage place being built and now I'm thinking this would be a great way to unload my collection of #stuff that's not needed but too good to throw away:

  1. rent storage, pay for for two years
  2. clear out closets
  3. add some unique items
  4. leave it to be auctioned off
  5. sleep peacefully
  6. watch for unique items to show up on YouTube

I have succumbed to propaganda (Instagram ad) and finally bought them fabled Fiona Franchimon hairpins.

I have like a quarter of a kilo of various hairpins and bobby pins, because none of them are any good, so what hope do I have to expect any better from this expensive newfangled faffery? But I'm not immune to propaganda, in my favourite colour, that looks like a starship, so here we are.

Unfortunately these hairpins are absolutely excellent so I can't even complain 😤

@tim yeah I think my ball point pen has 8GB. So no. Just throw it into the drawer with all the other old cables, power cords, old external hard drives and other USB sticks. You have that drawer, right Tim? Because these days everyone has that drawer.

It would take a team of NatGeo archeologists to find the bottom of mine.

In NZ media news, Stuff reported the other day that NZME had been trying to buy Stuff newspapers but that fell through when right-wing billionaire Jim Grenon made his move to replace NZME's board.

Today the Herald is claiming that TradeMe is looking at a takeover of Stuff Digital.

This Stuff headline refers to "Glassford Road, Otago" three times, once in the headline and twice in the extremely short story. But they never specify the area where the accident happened.

I've lived in Otago for much of my life but it didn't ring any bells for me. A search shows it's way the hell up in the boonies, inland from Omakau in an area called Drybread.

Thanks Stuff.

#Please #sell #more of your #cool #stuff and #services and #art and #music en la #fedi.

I will — in #solidarity with your #crass #SelfServing effort to get monetary #permission you use to let others know they're #allowed to give you #food to eat and #housing to sleep under a roof and such without themselves #increasing their #risk under #capitalism of having neither — at least block people who complain about it.

Don't mistake this for endorsing #advertising and #sponsorships, because I do not.
