Grandpa Bertie is unimpressed with this winter nonsense! It is very hard to find your favorite poo spot when it’s covered in layers of snow, ice, and more snow.

A white English bulldog with spotted ears stands in a few inches of snow. He’s looking to his left with a grumpy expression on his face, as if to say, “What fresh hell is this?!”

The roads are covered in snow. There are large rocks beside and behind Bertie, forming a boundary line that also discourages people from putting cars in our yard.

I really appreciate how Halifax shuts down in bad weather instead of insisting people go out on dangerous roads. Today the kids have their first full snow day ever (they had early dismissal here due to snow before, but not a whole day off). Businesses closed early yesterday too. It helps keep everyone safe. It's not worth your life to try to get to/from work or school. #SnowDay #Halifax

If you move somewhere with harsh winters, it won't be an issue. Growing up in the Canadian prairies, I'd never even *heard* of a snow day until I heard it in some USAnian media.

The closest we've got is that they will stop running the school buses when the wind chill drops below -45C -- but the schools stay open. You can still drop your kids off and not see them all day
