For the last six months or so, I've been playing in a #Shadowrun game where my character is a monstrous, cybered-up cartel hitman, who became what he is to get vengeance for the family that was murdered by a rival cartel.

Today, I saw the film SICARIO for the first time.

Welp, there's my character, plain as day, as if I'd time-traveled somehow to copy him line for line. The only thing missing is the cybered-up stunts. #ttrpg

Player2 (him): I can distract the gangers while you sneak in and search it.

Player3 (him): I will see if I can sneak past that dual-natured mage in the astral to search it.

Player4 (him): I can climb the apartment and get in via the balcony door to search it.

Player 5 (him): I can get some drones in there to search it.

Player1 (her): If we ask his girlfriend she probably has a set of keys and can let us in to search it.

I finished up this lounge/gentleman's club/bar from #FlatlineCity yesterday. I decided to keep the supports in the main doorway and paint them up as if they're some sort of scanner. I pretty heavily weathered the back and on side, leaving the front and the side entrance a little cleaner, figuring they get washed more frequently.

There's a lot of stuff I love about #CyberKnights : Flashpoint, but today I especially enjoyed how the hacking plays out alongside the tactical combat. Frantically slicing through ICE to unlock an escape while your team trade bullets and plasma blasts with a corporate security force is a huge rush, and one I haven't had since the #Shadowrun #CRPG s.

Listen, if someone has an opinion on #Shadowrun, I'm gonna chime in.

The reason Shadowrun remained relevant while other cyberpunk #TTRPG titles faded is that Shadowrun has always been woke. Racism and class warfare weren't just adjacent to the setting, they were the whole point of the game's world.

Punk is about the empowerment of the individual in the struggle against authoritarianism. Shadowrun always nailed the punk in cyberpunk in ways few other games did.
