“I'm a cyclist in Davis and grew up in the East Bay. The
publication wants me to focus on the East Bay in my writing as other
parts of the Bay are better represented already among their other
writers. Would also like some info about biking and the environment
and about infrastructure.

“Is anyone here part of a cycling group in the East Bay, or do you know
of one, and could I interview you over the phone/email or in person if
you're in Davis? Would love to help promote and advocate for

for climate resilience publication Knee Deep Times
(kneedeeptimes.org). They're a SF Bay Area online news site focused on
infrastructure, science, and policy that will help the SF Bay navigate
and weather climate change.

“I'm writing about cycling and ways to encourage it or make it easier
and safer through infrastructure. Have talked with a Bike East Bay
representative and got some useful info about the upcoming greenway
path from Fremont to Lake Merritt BART, but would love to hear more
perspectives, anecdotes, etc to fill my piece out into a story.
Something interesting, some kind of intriguing character who bikes or
story about someone's cycling adventures.”

These photos are from a hike I did a couple of days ago in Sierra Vista Open Space Reserve, in the mountains just northeast of San Jose, California. This time of year, near the end of the wet season, the hills are deep green; they'll change to golden brown by early to mid May. Now is the time to go if you're in the SF Bay Area. #hiking #photography #sfba
