BethI gave her half of her lunch and a little water. That would have to do for now. We spent a while at the summit taking in the views, taking photies, and just Being There. I could have spent longer up there but mindful of the water situation we headed back down. When we eventually reached the ford again I took Skye's pack off and let her have a good play in the river. BethBeing up high for so long was one of those... you had to be there things. Utterly fantastic and otherwise indescribable. But it was tough. The sun was beating down on us with little breeze, and I had to be careful not to guzzle the limited water I'd carried. Skye hadn't found any, all the usually wet puddles were bone dry. BethAlthough there was the odd watery hole to avoid, the dry weather made for an easy crossing of the bog. I made a navigation mistake at the bottom of the gully. Skye (see what I did there!) went left on an easier and much more obvious path which added a bit of a dog(!) leg to the already 2.8km ridge. BethYesterday we headed along a familiar track but we had a different destination. Just after the stepping stones across Abhainn Loch na h-Oidhche there are a couple of large rocks and a wee cairn marking the path across the bog to Beinn an Eòin - peak of the bird. BethSkye likes Loch Maree. BethI took Skye's pack off in anticipation she would want a swim. I had no choice she was going in! TBH, I appreciated the rest too. BethOn Monday we were up early and walking before 7am. A long 30 km and 1100 metres of ascent to bag our first Fisherfield munro - Beinn Tarsuinn. An incredible,12 hour day made by the views from the summit, and the personal challenge of making it happen.Skye had a good swim in Lochan Fada on the way back.
