Saint Patrick's Cabbage (Saxifraga spathularis) is a Saxifrage species found in Spain, Portugal and Ireland!! A member of a small group of plants called "Lusitanian flora) that are found in these countries but not in England, Wales or Scotland.

At a low point in the week (too early or late for #WildFlowerHour) when I will say something to be regretted later or note something seen by the kerbside on my way to the shops. Chose the second option: Rue-leaved Saxifrage, a curious, short-lived annual, the only member of the #Saxifrage family I see growing wild in my patch. They are 'locally common': this is the only patch I see them in. Rockery plants in a micro-landscape, junk space left over from the rights of the car. #botany
