Was ich wiederum sehr gerne mag - oder gerne hätte, denn die wenigsten Spiele bieten das - ist das Gefühl einer dynamischen Spielwelt, die nicht alleinig von meinen Aktionen als Spieler abhängt.

Ein kleines deutsches Beispiel: #Sacred. Im ersten Teil des deutschen Diablo-Klons (2004) sehen sich die Menschen unter anderem von Untoten und Dämonen unter Druck gesetzt. Selbstverständlich sind die Spieler*innen dafür verantwortlich, herauszufinden warum sich die Untoten erheben und woher die Dämonen kommen. Ich habe die Geschichte nicht mehr genau im Kopf, aber ich erinnere mich an Saqqara-Dämonen.

Leider hatte ich nie das Gefühl, dass dieser "Krieg" zwischen Lebenden und Untoten wirklich tobt, weil ohnehin alles nur reagiert hat wenn ich als Spieler Quests erledigt habe. Einerseits verständlich. Denn die Spielfigur ist im wahrsten Sinne der Hauptcharakter.

Aber zugleich fehlt der Spielwelt damit jede Menge Lebendigkeit.

The 1868 Treaty of Fort Laramie recognized that the Black Hills belong to the #Sioux people, but the US government seized the #land less than a decade later to mine for gold. A 1980 #SCOTUS decision found that the US violated the treaty, but the tribes refused the $1.3B in compensation they were offered & maintained their rights to the land.
