Yesterday featured a bicycle ride instead of a walk, which was a treat. I haven't biked in around 15 years, and missed it.

Good morning from the Azaleas!

Today is a fresh new start in my own mental and physical health journey and my wish is that all enjoy the opportunity to make the best of what today has to offer each of us!

Even if you're at rock bottom, keep fighting and pushing forward. It can be a long journey, for me it's been since October 2023 and eventually led to 6 out of 7 months being on medical leave to recover. Many days I did not want to continue on. Those were the days where I reminded myself that EVENTUALLY things would get better again. It doesn't happen over night, it happens with diligent and continuous effort, endless self-advocacy, asking for what you need (sometimes demanding it), patience, dedication, and a whole lot of hope.

It's always worth it, because YOU'RE always worth it! Know that you're not alone and are loved!

Be kind to yourself and find a reason to smile today

Every year our county seat, Eureka, CA, hosts a rhododendron festival and parade this time of year.
Rhodys are blooming every where you look. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors.
This one is huge. It is twenty five feet tall and stands in front of our house. I have to point my phone straight up to get pictures. This bush, if you can call it that, is covered with bees, and sounds alive with a constant buzz.
Once, I had the honor of being the grand Marshall of the rhododendron parade. I led the festivities while sitting on a fancy convertible sports car. My grandkids were young, and very impressed. It was worth trying to stay put with nothing to hold onto but a huge bouquet of flowers, just to see them be proud of me.
I scored a cool sash out of the deal but haven't found another use for it yet.
I love small town stuff.
