When I ordered the UConsole, I ordered with a CM4 - mostly because I didn't quite trust the ability to get a CM5. (Something something raspi supplies.)

Wellllll. I have a CM5 coming soon. And my uconsole - which means I'll have a spare CM4.

Really kind of pondering what to do with it, though - a CM4 w/ wifi in the waveshare dual-ethernet carrier board *would* be a pretty sweet DIY pocket firewall. Or I could make it a more conventional Pi for hookup to...

I dunno. Something.

Truth be told I'm tempted to make it a lower power handler for WSJT-X, and then bounce into it from either the uconsole, or whatever laptop I have on hand? Options!

RaspberryTips · YunoHost: Raspberry Pi Self-Hosting Made EasyIf you own a Raspberry Pi and want to set up your own WordPress server or any other application, you need to do a lot of configuration and setup. But, with YunoHost, you can self-host

I bought a #RaspberryPi 4 a while back for emulation but I didn't like it for that (slow to boot, audio and controller issues) so it has been sat without a purpose.

I spent some time this week turning it into a 200Gb mini server. It has:
🔹 Pi-hole (DNS level ad blocker)
🔹 Gitea (private git server for code backups)
🔹 Shared folders for network backups and transfers
🔹 No desktop UI (I setup everything remotely via the bash terminal)

I only started with #LinuxMint as my OS a couple of months ago, so I learnt a lot doing this fun project, and made some mistakes along the way that would have been much worse if I'd made them on my PC.

Aaah… much better after removing the SD Card.

Now it complains that it can’t find the card

DIY smart light: a Raspberry Pi Zero W is programmed to trigger a relay and switch on a lamp at sunset and turn it off at 11pm. No light sensor. The program reads the sunset time for the day from a CSV file. Version 2.0 will be wireless, but that's for another day. Fun.

I went through three multi-hour meetings at Town Hall using my #travel #network rig powered off a 25 Ah #powerbank, and still only got down to about 40% battery capacity. I still want to replace the powerbank with two smaller powerbanks, so they can be charged while they are being used, but the large capacity of this one kind of obviates the need for that, except for very long travel days. #WiFi #PiHole #RaspberryPi #Linux

Q1: Good evening! Can you please introduce yourself and what you you would like to be making next week?

My first time doing this, so I hope I do it right :blobderpy:
A1: I'm Nora and I'll be tinkering around with #quilting and also setting up a couple of #raspberrypi projects, a weather display unit, and a GROW hat to help remind me to water my houseplants - that one's almost ready!

“Seven years ago, EBEN UPTON created the first #RaspberryPi. As Upton told IEEE Spectrum in our March 2015 cover story, the Pi was inspired in part by his childhood experiments with a #BBCMicro home computer: He wanted modern kids to have a simple machine that allowed for similar experimentation. Since then, the Pi has exploded in popularity, and the fourth major revision of the Pi was released in June.”
