Agnieszka R. Turczyńska<p>Last but not least. At this moment I am a little bit annoyed by this whole situation. This is so broken by design.</p><p>So, if you are going to provide something, please at least check that it works for execution. No guessing. No "it should work". Please, check it.</p><p>And please paste the working code. Or at least the line you are referring to.</p><p><a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python</span></a> <a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python3</span></a></p>
Agnieszka R. Turczyńska<p>The solution I am going to use for myself is as follows.<br>As suggested, use:<br>sys.path.append('..')<br>in tests/test_foo.py.</p><p>For pylint just add --source-root option. Or generate a pylintrc file in the tests/ directory, with the following line:<br>source-roots=..</p><p>BTW, this code:</p><p>import sys<br>sys.path.append('..')<br>import foo<br>f=foo.Foo(3,4)<br>print(f.get())</p><p>generates pylint warning:<br>test_foo.py:5:0: C0413: Import "import foo" should be placed at the top of the module (wrong-import-position)<br>which needs to be ignored.</p><p>The pylint part I consider neat and I am happy with that. The sys.path.append() I can accept, but I would prefer to have something pylint clean.</p><p>If you have a better solution, I'd be glad to hear from you.</p><p><a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python</span></a> <a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python3</span></a></p>
Agnieszka R. Turczyńska<p>I've got somewhere. But first, let me establish the problem properly.</p><p>There is a project directory /tmp/foo</p><p>There is a file foo.py:<br>arturcz@tardis:/tmp/foo$ cat foo.py <br>class Foo:<br> def __init__(self, a, b):<br> self.a = a<br> self.b = b</p><p> def get(self):<br> return self.a+self.b</p><p>And there is a file test_foo.py in tests/ subdirectory:<br>#!/usr/bin/env python3<br>import foo # What should be here?</p><p>f=foo.Foo(3,4)<br>print(f.get())</p><p>What changes needs to be made in the code, to be able to:<br>a) execute the test_foo.py;<br>b) run pylint test_foo.py and get the correct results?</p><p>I am running pylint from inside the vim, so I do not mind if that will work from the vim, but not from CLI.</p><p><a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python</span></a> <a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python3</span></a></p>
Agnieszka R. Turczyńska<p>Ok, the problem is a follows.</p><p>I am writing a tool. Tool has some classes. Each class is in a separate file. So, there is a project directory, with contains main.py, class1.py, class2.py, etc.</p><p>I want to have tests as well. To keep things well organised, I'd like to keep tests in a separate directory. So, in the project directory, there is also a subdirectory tests/, where I have files class1-test.py, class2-test.py, etc.</p><p>So, what is the blessed-by-gods-of-python way to import class1 into tests/class1-test.py?</p><p><a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python</span></a> <a href="https://circumstances.run/tags/python3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>python3</span></a></p>

It is similar to VMware's DRS (Dynamic Resource Scheduler) which allows you to balance your cluster by memory, CPU or local storage usage to ensure an equal distribution within the cluster. With affinity &amp; anti-affinity groups you can also create groups where objects should be moved to a different groups as a whole unit or even forbid to be scheduled on the same node (e.g. HA setups).</p><p>You can find more information at GitHub: <a href="https://github.com/gyptazy/ProxLB" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/gyptazy/ProxLB</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/ProxmoxVE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProxmoxVE</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Virtualization" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Virtualization</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/virtualisation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>virtualisation</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/VM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VM</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/VPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VPS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Python3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python3</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/community" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>community</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/DRS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DRS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Balancing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Balancing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/ResourceScheduler" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ResourceScheduler</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/DevOps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DevOps</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Coding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Coding</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Proxmox</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/HomeLab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HomeLab</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/Corporate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Corporate</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/alternatives" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>alternatives</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/affinity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>affinity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/balancing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>balancing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gyptazy.com/tags/rebalancing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rebalancing</span></a></p>
