Can anyone advise me on designing an off-grid hot shower? It will be for paying guests, so it should be instant and foolproof to use.
I'm currently thinking to base it on a propane shower unit, drawing water from a butt using a 12v DC pump. Has anyone set up something like this? I have questions!

If you have no solar stuff yet, various sellers of solar panels and solar power stations are having Earth Day sales. This may well be the last chance to get good prices on this sort of thing before the costs of the trade war catch up to such things. If you've been eyeing solar anything, now is probably the time.

Camping Survival is having a double-dip sale that covers most of the store. Most stuff is discounted, and then on top of that most things can have an additional discount thrown on top by entering a code at checkout. The free shipping threshold is $79 (after discounts), so if you're looking for a broad range of prep things, this is currently a good site to comb.
Rainy Day Foods is currently having a sale on cases of dry and dried foods. In most stores that would lead to excess, but in addition to the common large #10 cans for emergency foods, they also sell stuff in #2.5 cans, including cases thereof... and most notably, in cases that are variety "paks", which are included in the sale!
Having prepared as best I can given the limitations of our house and my budget, I've found myself still keeping an eye on sites, just with more of an eye towards wanting other people to survive too.
Notably, the dehydrated carrot sale I posted about earlier this week is something I told my roommate's family about, on the theory that if I bought several cans cheap I could pass them around to their households... but no one seems interested. 
I hope this doesn't hurt them later...

You can buy up to five (six now?) cans for $10 each, with each containing 75 servings (I know that doesn't match the info on the page, but it's what my cans from them say) and still only pay $10 shipping.
European Union citizens should stockpile enough food and other essential supplies to sustain them for at least 72 hours in the event of a crisis, the EU Commission has said.
In new guidance released Wednesday, the commission stressed the need for Europe to shift its mindset, to foster a culture of “preparedness” and “resilience.”

Some interesting developments on #PrEP availability in Japan:
1. In 2024 (12 years after the US), Truvada was approved for preventative use in Japan. Descovy still is not.
2. Prior to approval, clinics prescribing PrEP would import Truvada generics such as Tenvir-EM from abroad, with a cost to individuals of less than 10,000 JPY/mo.
3. After Descovy was approved for preventative use in the US, clinics started doing the same with Descovy generics such as Tafero-EM.
4. Now that Truvada has been approved for preventative use in Japan, however, clinics aren't able to import and prescribe generic Truvada from abroad.
5. Name-brand Truvada costs about 2442.2 JPY *per day* (73,272 JPY per month), and isn't covered by insurance.
So, most people using generic Truvada prescribed by a clinic for PrEP have basically two options: (1) Personal importation (legal subject to some restrictions) or (2) Switching to generic Descovy. Which, since it hasn't been approved for preventative use in Japan, clinics can still import and prescribe.
