Hypothetical simulation of methane emissions if half fewer bovines

The resource weight is a "total derivative": it is only an approximation near the studied area of the (actual and unknown) production function with respect to any argument.

* Halving the number of bovines would avoid around 3 Gtₑ/year being emitted by their digestion.
* The steepest slopes include livestock in Brazil, Argentina, USA, Sudan, Australia.

Domestic poultry (chickens & turkeys) are @ high risk as they are highly susceptible. **100% of experimentally infected poultry die.** Virus spreads from birds to cattle, then in cattle, in 17 states, & it continues to circulate in cattle... I don’t think there’s been a cattle outbreak of this magnitude in the US before... 2%-5% of the mortality in some (cattle) farms, so it’s not benign...
