joranelias<p>Came back here just to say that as long as there's no inline figure support in Quarto/RMarkdown, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>positron</span></a> is essentially dead to me. Julia Silge<p>I found this post by Claire Welsh super interesting, outlining how she uses <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Positron</span></a> as someone working in product! 🤩 </p><p>My own data science skills have been helpful in making product decisions, and I always appreciate learning more about other people who do similar work:<br><a href="https://posit.co/blog/positron-for-product-owners/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">posit.co/blog/positron-for-pro</span><span class="invisible">duct-owners/</span></a></p>

Erin Jonaitis<p>Playing with <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>positron</span></a> today. Relative paths work like I want them to. However, in RStudio there was support for modifying the output location of Rmd rendering via a setting in the YAML header, and this support isn't there in Positron. Is there another way to specify where html/etc should be saved when rendering?</p>
Erin Jonaitis<p>Continuing my <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/rstats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rstats</span></a> IDE question from yesterday: the primary benefit of RStudio is its project oriented workflow. I got several recommendations for <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>positron</span></a>, but when I look at their page on projects (<a href="https://positron.posit.co/rstudio-rproj-file.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">positron.posit.co/rstudio-rpro</span><span class="invisible">j-file.html</span></a>) I'm not entirely sure how this functions. It looks an awful lot like its approach to identifying a main project directory unambiguously is leaning on other tools I cannot use in my context (please, no derails about git).</p><p>But maybe I am missing something? This made me wonder, is it possible to use rprojroot() or here() without an actual Rproj file, in some way that does not inherit all the problems of setwd()? The .Rproj file is both the attraction of RStudio and its fatal flaw in my tech context; if I can limp along without it, so much the better.</p>
Spencer Schien<p>I have a <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/rstats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rstats</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Positron</span></a> question: anyone run into issues with auto-indentation, and did you fix it? Here’s a video example of the issue, I want it to work in Positron like it does in RStudio! I’m sure I’m missing something.</p>
Steven P. Dr. Robert M Flight<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.pub.solar/@jorgeluis" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>jorgeluis</span></a></span> I've not used it for revealjs yet, but my qmd blog and website have been fine with it, as well as quarto to docx and html in general, but that seems more of a quarto issue? And I update that regularly to get new features and bugfixes.</p><p>My only gripe w/ <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Positron</span></a> right now is not handling outlines very well in my `targets::tar_assign` calls, but otherwise, I'm really enjoying using it. The split editor alone has made it worth the switch.</p>
Jorge Saturno<p>Anyone using <a href="https://mastodon.pub.solar/tags/Positron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Positron</span></a> on a daily basis? I have used the beta a while ago and had issues exporting as revealjs and rendering qmd websites.
