Matteo ZenattiI chose the madrigal for the first lesson of my new polyphony course, a rare and fascinating piece for five voices by Luzzasco Luzzaschi (unfortunately little practiced as an author), Grazie ad Amor.
There won't be any tenors on Saturday, so I had to choose a piece with a bass line and, immediately above, an alto. Luckily madrigals always have several ways to combine voices.
And in any case I want to use the musical material of the piece to work on the aspect that will be the topic of the lesson, unisons and octaves.
I don't want to stress (too much) about fully performing the piece. Let's see!

https://www.matteozenatti.net/prontuario-del-perfetto-polifonista/

#earlymusic #madrigal #polyphony #acappella #singing

matteozenatti

Ben, procediamo.

#earlymusic #medievalmusic #polyphony
