Mark<p>Because we all know the ultimate geek garden is Slackware, alive and kicking after 32 years. Running Hyprland 0.50, with nwg-shell on top. Another fine Slacker0ni production!<br><a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/slackeroni" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackeroni</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/hyprland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hyprland</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a></p>
jloc0<p>As I’m thinking about it, no I will not even try <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a> on 15.0 because I’m not even trying qt6 (tho there is a gimped package out there), it may be a possibility, but someone else is gonna have to try that. Let me know if you succeed though. ;) <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/sbo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sbo</span></a></p>
jloc0<p>I’m building myself a special liveslak with the “graphics-updates” built-in and a bunch of the needed stuff in extra as well for the purpose of testing <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> on stable with updates I can’t send to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/sbo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sbo</span></a> (they won’t accept anything based on anything not in the main tree or patches). It’s very possible we could have the latest sway &amp; even be able to use Hyprland on 15.0 now. If that’s the case, I may create a special full featured nwg repo for 15.0 for users willing to go down that path.</p>
jloc0<p>I see after today’s <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> current updates that <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/hyprland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hyprland</span></a> is broken. I’ll push rebuilds soon for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> so have no fear, fixes are on the way!</p>
jloc0<p>I've uploaded a new/fixed <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a> liveslak ISO <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/liveslak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>liveslak</span></a>, my last one shipped a few old packages, so I cleaned things up and put up a new ISO that's fresh out of the box. There's also an updated <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> ISO uploading right now, that will be available momentarily, with a fixed default hyprland config, and the latest changes as well. <a href="https://rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>Pushed a few updates for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> from Piotr’s updates today to keep us in-line with the latest updates offered. That’s all folks from me today! <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">slackware.lngn.net/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>I pushed an updated <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> liveslak ISO with the latest changes &amp; updates while fixing a few small things along the way. <a href="https://rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>wlroots has a new release (0.19) and sway is onto RC releases for the compatible release update. Traditionally, I’d added these to the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> repo but since <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> consumed wlroots, I have not done so. But yeah, that’s in the air to look forward too.</p>
jloc0<p>I uploaded new liveslak ISOs for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a> today. The nwg still needs some trimming work but it’s getting slimmer at 2.2gb. The kde6 is the big boy at 4.5gb, I plan to slim that one down soon eventually as well. <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> <a href="https://rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>I’ve posted the KDE Gear 25.04.1 updates and <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/hyprland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hyprland</span></a> 0.49.0 to the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackaroni" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackaroni</span></a> repo. <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">slackware.lngn.net/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>Pushed some poppler rebuilds to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a>, updated qterminal for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/lxqt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lxqt</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> nwg-look-1.0.5. <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackaroni" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackaroni</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/pub/x86_64/slackware64-current/ChangeLog.txt" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">slackware.lngn.net/pub/x86_64/</span><span class="invisible">slackware64-current/ChangeLog.txt</span></a></p>

jloc0<p>Also, yesterday was a busy day overall. I pushed many updates to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/mame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mame</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/libreoffice" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>libreoffice</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/firefox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>firefox</span></a> and even uploaded a arm64 <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/librewolf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>librewolf</span></a> package. <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">slackware.lngn.net/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>Well, another day, another new addition for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a>! Today brings the addition of google-go-lang to the official package set! I have not removed it from <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> yet but will be doing so shortly.</p>
jloc0<p>I’ve updated <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/hyprland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hyprland</span></a> to 0.48 on the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackwareaarch64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackwareaarch64</span></a> repos along with a few other updates recently as well. <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">slackware.lngn.net/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p>Updated to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/hyprland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hyprland</span></a> 0.47.0 on <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> repo today. There’s a new dependency so ensure you pull that in when updating folks! <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net/pub/x86_64/slackware64-current/nwg-shell/ChangeLog.txt" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">slackware.lngn.net/pub/x86_64/</span><span class="invisible">slackware64-current/nwg-shell/ChangeLog.txt</span></a></p>
jloc0<p>Some hours ago I pushed a bunch of hypr* rebuilds for an updated hyprutils on <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> along with the latest foot terminal. Now there’s been a revision of two of the included packages and those will be pushed soon as well. <a href="https://slackware.lngn.net" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">slackware.lngn.net</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> has been updated with Hyprland 0.46 with its 4 (or 5) new dependencies. jloc0<p>Today I've pushed a new <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackware</span></a> liveslak ISO with the latest current packages as the base installation. <a href="https://rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
jloc0<p><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/slackwareaarch64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slackwareaarch64</span></a> users, the update to python 3.12 is live but I cannot push fixes to <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/nwgshell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nwgshell</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/kde6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kde6</span></a> right now. Kde is building though and I’ll have to do nwg manually later but we’ll see how much time allows me today.</p>
