When you see #Muntjac #deer two or three times a day from the windows in your house you just don't bother to #snap them every time.
I'm still worry that these images are not the best as I only have my cheap phone available to capture them.
I saw the #male first. It was a few minutes later that the #female arrived.
@Broadfork
I just wish I had a good answer to that question or one that might impress.
Around COVID time we had a #raisedbed constructed. The trouble is the #Muntjac. The #deer eat everything, so that's been unused since that first #season. (You can also blame wife's health as a contributory factor.) It's also used in a few window boxes, but that's about it as far as convention goes.
Dare I confess that a lot is mixed with the chippings we generate from storm damaged trees and those that have died and is spread on the paths. The soil is basically peat and as it dries footsteps grind it away exposing tree roots that become a trip hazard. The original idea was that it might help create smooth grass paths, but in such wooded conditions there's little sun and ground that's much above the water table dries out too much for grass.
My wife has suggested giving it away or selling it, but I'm very reluctant to let anything go off site. The ground's low enough as it is.
Someone saw a muntjac deer at the allotments yesterday. Any kind of fencing is currently against the rules, and apparently they are "notorious browsers". Oh dear...

Elephants' ears are beginning to flower beautifully but the leaves, every last one, have been eaten. Bloody muntjac!
But then, I wanted a wildlife friendly garden, hence I am getting the wildlife, which is satisfying. Ah well …
We're back home, after a week of hospital visits while dog sitting for our son. (Scroll back a few toots to read about that.)
As I knew I would, this morning was one of those days when I regretted leaving my #camera at the cottage. (Scroll even further back!)
A decent #zoom lens would have been really helpful for seeing the #Muntjac #deer to especially the #female grazing on the path.
One good thing about only having my phone and it's wide angle lens was that I could easily push it through the open window and point it in the general direction when the #male was immediately beneath our bedroom.

Go make ripples together!
Already I'm regretting leaving my camera at the cottage. The quality of this video, taken through our patio doors, is not good.
But you do hear Diana's comment about the #heron building it's #nest one stick at a time.
The sudden swing of angle at the end was made in the hope you'd see the bird's landing spot in the trees beyond the lake, but instead it turns as it's still rising to miss the trees.
#Disaster! Back #home from the cottage, only to realise I left my #camera there. That means no more decent zoomed in #wildlife photos for the next six weeks!
Got home around 16:00 to see the #heron is still collecting #nesting material and the #Muntjac #deer are as active as ever.
We had a good #sunset too!
It seems it's been a while since I posted photographs of #Muntjac #Deer behind our house.
This image was taken yesterday at 17:14 and I like the way the bronze of the erratically growing #beech hedge shows up along with the very non-native looking #evergreen. (Must find out what it is some day!)
Oops! my server went off line for a period. Perhaps, I missed a maintenance announcement? Hence my delay in reporting the continuing story of tonight's visit by a #heron outside our lounge.
As #sunset began to change the light #tuftedducks and #mallard gathered on the lake behind the heron.
I went to transfer the photos to my computer only to have Diana reporting that now three #muntjac #deer had crossed from the neighbour's field and joined the party.
Just after 08:30 the first of the #Canada #Geese returned to our lake. They are, perhaps, a little late this year.
Our (almost) resident pair of #Swans took exception to the arrival and spent a while chasing them round the lake. Then things calmed down.
However, the entire flock of geese took off around 10:30 although they weren't under pressure at that stage. No doubt we'll see them again over the coming days.
While all this was going on the inevitable #muntjac deer appeared.
We continue to have lots of interest on the #lake. On #Tuesday I managed to get a picture of a pair of #TuftedDuck and then a pair of #Mallard joined them.
Wednesday saw yes another #Muntjac deer which I photographed through our patio doors.
It's time I caught up on some of the #wildlife seen from our bedroom window. These images were all taken on #Wednesday #thisweek. It includes one in which five #muntjac are seen. Previously, I have never seen more than four, a #pair and their two #young. How these are #related, and I assume they are, I have no idea.
Check the ALT text for timing the images.
Yesterday at 13:00 we were watching the TV news and having lunch when, through our patio doors I noticed there was a #Muntjac #deer browsing on the banks of the #lake outside. Taking the #photos through the double glazing and into the sun doesn't make for the best images, but they'll do.
Our #neighbour piles his #grass cuttings in between his #apple trees. The deer were still there at 14:44 and I went to our bedroom to get a slightly better view of them in his #orchard area.
Coming #home this afternoon we saw our side gate was open. Not an issue, the post is loose and the wind will have opened it. But just beyond were two #Muntjac #deer.
I had time to struggle to reach under a jacket and into a pocket to fetch my phone and open the camera app before the second deer had decided to follow the first and move into the hedge.
The poor quality photo was taken through through the damp windscreen of our car.
