A group of psychotic Republican conspiracy theorists in the #Minnesota legislature have proposed a bill "designating #mRNA injections and products as weapons
of mass destruction
[and] prohibiting mRNA injections and products".

As this is Minnesota, and not, say, Texas, one assumes sanity will prevail and this crap will end up forgotten by history (other than as a cautionary tale about what happens when you let the #fascist fox into the #democratic hen house.

Data hoarder problem. During the #COVID lockdown and the news about BioNTech and their #mrna vaccine being developed, I thought that mrna could become an open thing. "Print" vaccines on standardised machines that are open hardware and open source (the basic patents on mrna are about to expire). Open "libraries" of mrna recipes. So I booked openmrna.com, .net and .org. They are about to expire. Should I keep them? (don't open them in your browser, don't)

#Corona-Impfung zeigt unerwartete Wirkung

“I don’t know when the shoe is going to drop. As a vaccine researcher we are all extremely nervous about what can happen to research funding,” said the New York scientist who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “There is no Plan B. It is economic madness as well as the elimination of a powerful technology against future pandemics. It is a freaking nightmare.”

🧬💡 mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines train the ‘long-term memory’ of the #immunesystem📚
A study by researchers from the #UniCologne and the University Clinic Cologne shows that mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 not only trigger classical #immuneresponses, but also have a persistent effect on the innate immune system. These changes may enable the human body to respond faster and more broadly to future #infections. 🦠

"A new mRNA vaccine could prevent pancreatic cancer from returning — potentially for the long haul.

In a small clinical trial, some patients who received the vaccine remained cancer-free for more than three years, researchers reported February 19 in Nature.

That is 'pretty remarkable,' says Aaron Sasson, who directs the Pancreatic Cancer Center at Stony Brook Medicine in New York and was not involved with the work. Despite facing a notoriously lethal cancer, these patients lived 'a lot longer than we would have otherwise expected,' he says."

Science News · An mRNA cancer vaccine may offer long-term protection A vaccine kept patients free of pancreatic cancer for years, yet new reports say the NIH is advising against mentioning mRNA tech in grants.

"National Institutes of Health officials have urged scientists to remove all references to mRNA vaccine technology from their grant applications, two researchers said, in a move that signaled the agency might abandon a promising field of medical research.

The mRNA technology is under study at the NIH for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, including flu and AIDS, and also cancer. It was deployed in the development of covid-19 vaccines credited with saving 3 million lives in the U.S. alone — an accomplishment President Donald Trump bragged about in his first term."

KFF Health NewsScientists Say NIH Officials Told Them To Scrub mRNA References on Grants - KFF Health NewsTwo senior scientists say National Institutes of Health officials advised them to remove references to mRNA vaccines in grant applications, and they fear the Trump administration will abandon a promising field of medical research.

The vaccine technology that essentially saved humanity during the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic and is now also the leading prospect for immunization against cancer is under attack by this uneducated, conspiracy-riddled, anti-science, anti-education administration!
