@gastonrampersad Nassim Nicholas Teleb's Antifragile: Things that gain from disorder. Teleb's way of writing is an acquired taste, but the mindset he cultivates here is one of consideration for how a system responds to outside forces. I find this important, because people tend to just adopt a microservices architecture without understanding its benefits and drawbacks. #Microservices should help scaling up and down according to load (€ & performance), and limiting the blast radius of changes.#dev

Kubernetes is revolutionizing how organizations manage complex applications, offering scalability, flexibility, and robustness.
Here are some more key use cases:
✅ Large-Scale Apps - Kubernetes helps manage large-scale apps during peak traffic, ensuring a smooth user experience.
✅ AI/ML with Kubernetes - NVIDIA uses Kubernetes to deploy AI models at scale, optimizing resource utilization.
✅ DevOps Efficiency - Spotify speeds up software delivery with Kubernetes, reducing time to market.

Now is the time to get away from techgiants and all their tech promises like #llm #cloud #lowcode #microservices and all the other promises they made.

Amazing software is made by people that are passionate about their craft this is also true for software #development . Don't get fooled that #llm can replace the systems thinking and problem solving abilities a passionate developer gained over the years.

Most software doesn't need that "massive" scale that is described in all the tech articles. Most of the time smaller systems and even monoliths are a great choice if done properly.

Also look forward to move your software away from regimes that are truely against the free and democratic world. Host in for example in #europe . Move away from software that could be easily removed in minutes from you. #Selfhosting build your own specialised software and count on companies based in countries you trust.

USSO is a third-party cookie-based SSO (for now), built to work across multiple domains and businesses. It has been in development for over a year by Mahdi Kiani.

Right now, it's written in Python, but a Go rewrite is coming soon. After the rewrite, OAuth, SAML, and other authentication methods will be added.

For now, USSO doesn’t have a frontend to manage all SSO operations, but everything is available through an API.

A couple of microservices also work with USSO:

A global S3-based file manager

UFAAS, a Function-as-a-Service platform, optimized for Iran

UFAAS currently only supports IRT/IRR currencies and integrates with Iranian payment gateways, but accounts can also be manually charged.

A Rust module for USSO has also been released, making it easier to integrate with Rust-based applications. Additionally, I've recently joined the development team.

USSO is planned to be used on Parch Linux, and detailed deployment documentation will be written for all major platforms, including cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jails.

Since most enterprise apps are built on a sort of accidental micro-service architecture these days, a huge amount of time is spent figuring out the error format and the error cases.

That one old machine in some corner is sending almost JSON as an error response, another machine is responding in error numbers, one is sending just plain text, and one is just sending empty responses with status codes.
