I’m now on the Limerick Junction to Cork train, which is full.

The onboard reservation system isn’t working meaning everyone like me who got on at the junction and had seat numbers assigned online now have to find any seat available on any carriage as it’s now free seating.

Some people are standing and an argument has arisen between a man and two women who technically are sitting in his seat but won’t move.

All this for €25 😳

As it’s the weekend there’s no ticket office open in Clonmel or Limerick Junction train stations and no ability to buy tickets onboard.

The only way to purchase a ticket is online with a credit/debit card. This is both ageist, ableist and classist. It excludes people with no internet connections or bank accounts.

Getting a train from Clonmel to Cork.

To drive, it takes approx. an hour. To train, it takes 2 hrs 30mins. I have to take two trains, changing at Limerick Junction. It’s costing me €25 return.

To drive Clonmel to Waterford takes approx. 45 mins. To train takes 50 mins and costs €6 return. The difference is crazy!

Ireland’s rail network outside Dublin is completely inefficient and so expensive. If we are going to stop relying on cars we need a much better national network. #Mastodaoine

The #DUP #TUV and loyalist activist 🚮 continue to waste massive sums of taxpayers money arguing that Ireland’s national language shouldn’t be on signage in Ireland; meanwhile there’s insufficient housing, agricultural pollution affecting much of our AONB and water bodies, prices are about to rise exponentially because of Trump tariffs, a UK ETA for visitors to six countries of Northern Ireland that will cost tourism and hospitality a lot in discontinued bookings, and a likely rise in unemployment as the effect of tariffs impact around the world.
But two languages on a signboard……. Pass the smelling salts.

Hey #mastodaoine did you go to London for a few years and work? Are you also bereft of a private pension pot? The broke UK government are letting us pay up to 10 previous years' worth of National Insurance Contributions (NICs) and it'll bolster your meagre existence after reaching pension age.

It's a financial giveaway, and the deadline is tomorrow.

BUT if you lodge a request for a callback, they'll contact you within 8 weeks(ish) and consider that as being before the deadline.

Update from Yohan's trainer:

He's settling in well. Mixing with other dogs nicely. Got two goes around the centre on a long lead to get used to the new sights, sounds and especially smells.

He's kenneling in with Valko, a dog he knows from before he went into the centre. Boarding with Vicky didn't work because she very sensitive.

Throughout the call she emphasised how much they have their welfare at heart.

There are two tiny islands by Newfoundland that now have the highest US tariffs in the world as they have all of 5800 people and no industry so they basically sell some fish to the US but don't buy much in return.

Thing is, it used to be a french territory so legally, they're France. They're all French citizens, they're in the EU, they're part of the Eurozone, all that fun stuff.

So the EU has three different tariff rates applied to it because the US is bad at geography.
