#MAHB is said to be mulling on hiring a #IJM Corp-led consortium to carry on with the #aerotrain replacement project that was halted in August, according to sources familiar with the matter.

MAHB is currently ironing out the details before issuing the letter of intent to the consortium for the resumption of upgrading of the automated people mover (#APM) system.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (#KLIA) is a rather large #airport that is served by a multitude of full-service and budget carriers.

However, ever since the pandemic, something happened to that airport and it’s hard to put a finger on it what the causes are.

Traffic appears to be very slow ever since Covid and even after the country reopened the routes to/from #KUL appear to have been highly diminished.

Bad weather has caused a small part of the ceiling at #Skybridge #Departure Level 3, #KLIA #Terminal 2 to fall, according to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (#MAHB).

No casualties were reported.

#Rectification works are ongoing and the area has been closed off until works and safety #inspection are completed.

“Please avoid the cordoned-off area for your safety. If you require assistance, please approach our #Airport CARE Ambassadors,” it said.
