Last month, I spent about a week working on Plasma Bigscreen, hoping to get it back in Plasma releases again!
Read about it on my blog: https://espi.dev/posts/2025/07/plasma-bigscreen/
Danke @tuxedocomputers .

#KDE Plasma 6.3.6 Desktop Environment Is Out Now with Numerous Improvements and Bug Fixes https://9to5linux.com/kde-plasma-6-3-6-released-with-numerous-improvements-and-bug-fixes
There are some things that are just better as a command, some things that are better in #GUI. I love finding out that there's a GUI (#KDE Ark) for something I've been using command line for (#7Zip archives with #encryption).
June’s #Tumbleweed update brings major feature & under-the-hood improvements! Highlights include #KDE Plasma 6.4, Frameworks 6.15, Gear 25.04.2, GCC 15, Mesa 25.1.3 & #PipeWire 1.4.6. Vital security patches for #Firefox, Python, Salt & more. #opensource #openSUSE #Linux https://news.opensuse.org/2025/07/03/tw-monthly-update-june/
The last maintenance release of the 25.04 series is out with fixes to the volume and transform effects as well as some issues with guides.
KDE Plasma 6.3.6 enhances tablet and multi-monitor support, updates brightness handling, and fixes notification quirks.

Love KDE? Now you can wear your love too.
Whether you're customizing your desktop or your hoodie, KDE gear is a fun way to show your support for open-source, creativity, and community. Grab a tee, a mug, or a sticker to let the world know you're Konqi and Katie approved.

Struggling to find a decent KDE Plasma icon pack... Always end up with Tela Circle, but it feels like settling.
Good looking icon packs are often missing icons for many of my applications, leaving the interface messy and inconsistent.
Anyone got recommendations for nice looking, functionally complete icon packs?
#PetPeeve: I hate that "Music" is one of the standard home folders on desktop computers. I love music, but I want it to be "Audio" -- not all audio is music (plus "audio" pairs better with "video"). When was this default established, in #MacOS X 10.0, #WinNT, earlier? (I think NextStep or BeOS might have had a "Sounds" folder.) Now, seemingly every #desktop uses this default: #Windows, #Mac, #FreeDesktop environments (#GNOME, #KDE), are there any exceptions? Like the #DesktopMetaphor itself, we're stuck with it, even though it chafes.

@koitu and I have been working on porting Plasma Camera to have a libcamera backend! I am excited to announce that we have made an initial release.

Well... Mother in law wants #Linux installed. The laptop has a touch screen. She wants something that has a start button like Windows.
Which works best as a DE with a touch screen, #Cinnamon or #KDE #Plasma? I'm leaning towards Plasma because I'm used to it, but I think Cinnamon might be a simpler option.
