The new #Superman trailer is great, but when I see Guy Gardener, Hawkwoman, Mr. Terrific, etc. in the same short blip, it feels like more of a #JusticeLeague film.

#WarnerBros has consistently rushed the rollout of their cinematic heroes with poor results. Just look at the Black Adam log jam. They tried to introduce the entire #JSA in one go.

I'm tentatively optimistic, but to quote Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, "you don't have to go leaping for the clitoris like a bull at the gate.”

I enjoyed All Star Squadron in the 80s. I liked the idea of ongoing #superhero #comics set in a parallel #earth in the 1940s.

There was a missed opportunity to explore this era in #dccomics new 52.

#JamesRobinson created a classic exploring the #1950s and #mccarthism in his classic #thegoldenage, but that was over 20 years ago.

They are doing a great job now with the new #JSA books, especially #alanscottthegreenlantern set in the 40s.

DCALAN SCOTT: THE GREEN LANTERN #2 | DCAlan’s search for the killer framing him continues! But why are the murder victims people from Alan’s past, and how does this connect to his brief stint in Arkham Asylum?!

Since the movie about Oppenheimer is about to be released, you might be interesting in tracking down this comic book via Comixology or your local comic book store: All-Star Squadron 20 from 1983.

Written by Roy Thomas with art by Jerry Ordway, the story imagines the original Green Lantern in a parallel position to that of Oppenheimer – having impulsively turned his magic ring into the equivalent of a nuclear weapon while immersed in a vivid hallucination, bringing World War II to an apparent early end.

It's a powerful story, one of the best of that book IMO.
