Well, the last mobi cartridge I used seized up with over 100U remaining. Frequent occlusion alarms becoming a jammed cart resulted in replacing it. When I tried to move the plunger manually after taking it off the mobi, it took some force.

Current cartridge is also showing signs leading to this problem.

That's 2 of 2 having issues in a fresh pack of cartridges.

Sigh.

Another cartridge failure. There was less insulin in the cart, but I don't think it was quite empty like last time, but likely a discrepancy as to what remains.

So 2 sessions in a row while using temp rates with CIQ+ I had this failure. Prior to that, a session without using the feature went flawlessly.

I'm going to run this next session without the temp rate feature again.

I love that CIQ+ allows me to temp basal now.

I feel like using temp basal is better for a correction when BG isn’t excessively high. CIQ wills till adjust as needed so a bit safer than just taking a straight bolus. It’s a bit slower though.

If my BG is high, though, a correction bolus is still better.

But it’s good to have more control over this.

It looks like as of Sunday, the initial work to get the Tandem Mobi working with AAPS is done and going into testing. As of now, it'll only do basic oref0 (TBR).

They're kicking up private testing for now so it's not widely available yet.

Congrats to jwoglom and AndyRozman on Discord for their hard work! It's great to see progress!

I did a small experiment this morning.

Since I can now set temporary basal rates with CIQ, when I woke up, before getting out of bed (I often just lay for a bit), I set a 150% basal rate for half an hour. I was above target anyway.

It seems to have blunted my typical FOTF!

I suspect this is how my body would prepare for a cortisol spike, normally.

I contacted my #endocrinologist about potentially using #fiasp in my #Tandem #tslim #insulinpump to help mitigate the issues I have balancing bolus response times & unpredictable #gastroparesis occurrence & duration. She’s not outright opposed which is nice, but she mentioned a different pump that is supposed to approximate how a pancreas works: #BetaBionics. I hadn’t heard of it. Does anyone have experience with this pump?

"Innovations in Continuous Glucose Monitoring" website topic

This website has a wealth of information on continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps, mined from information in patents. Some of the information is free and other parts are paywalled. The information has been edited into plainer English making it easier for someone who is not a patent attorney to understand.

So Control-IQ+ has 2 main changes that, not only is discussed in press releases, but is part of the update training.

First, the ability to set a temporary basal rate while CIQ is enabled. Previously, this required turning off CIQ.

Second, the ability to do an extended bolus up to 8 hours instead of just 2 hours.

But there were also notes of nebulous “algorithm adjustments" with no details. I think I've run into it being a bit more aggressive to basal rates in response to BG climbing. My BG tends to climb many hours after having some wine (alcohol effect on liver, etc), usually while I'm sleeping, and sleep mode doesn't allow automated correction bolus, so only allows basal rate adjustments. I noticed in the visualization that basal rates looked more aggressive and the high BG didn't last nearly as long as it had in the past.

I wasn't sure if the Mobi pump ran the Control-IQ algorithm or if the phone did and communicated algorithmic adjustments to the pump.

I pretty much confirmed the pump runs the algorithm.

My phone lost connection to the pump over night and I didn't notice. I had to force restart the app and watched it backfill the data from the pump.

The pump was still doing its magic all night, including a correction bolus for my FOTF this morning.

Today I switched to 32 inch infusion sets from 23 inch. 23 inch were fine for tube management, but there were situations where it wasn't long enough.

I'm sure other pump users probably know.

The extra length is definitely noticeable. But the tube management doesn't seem any worse.

We shall see how it goes!

Hm, sender seems to be working fine, yet the receiving end acts as if nothing was reaching it... So either it's transmission issue somewhere along the way, or something is wrong at the receiving end, I guess it would be with processing...
Oh, it's just me dealing with #diabetes and figuring out whether it's my #InsulinPump that's the issue, the infusion site, or whether for whatever reason my body decided to forget what it should do with the #insulin.

Got my replacement supplies from Tandem a bit faster than expected. The rep said they'd send out 2 cartridges and 2 infusion sets. I received 2 cartridges and a full box of 10 infusion sets.

I have so much supplies right now. But, of course, I need to stock up anyway.

There's some aspects of Tandem I'm not a fan of. And then there's some good.

I decided to not do my every other day recharge of my Mobi. It went about 4 days before hitting 25% battery remaining. So it can, comfortably, run for 4-5 days, at least with my usage.

Not bad for such a tiny device!

Importantly, it lasted the entire life of an infusion set.
