another #NorthCarolina group looking to make public events safer through COVID activism!

queer the air collective is a QTBIPOC mutual aid group based out of "durham, NC" 😷 🌈

besides their work on COVID education on centralized social media...

they opened up a lending library, where they loan an air purifier (currently one so far) for free to community events in the triangle. they have a fundraiser, where they hope to buy more air purifiers to lend out to more events & happenings to make public spaces safer for all!

@philosopher Kudos!

I was diagnosed w/ #ESKD early 2023 after 3 yrs of suffering w/ 75+ symptoms after #Covid in 2020. Was told dialysis is inevitable. Also diagnosed w/ #longCOVID + #immunocompromised that quarter..

Started #liondiet Feb 2024. Went on #carnivorediet in Fall. All except 2 of my biomarkers returned to normal. Kidney biomarkers improved later that year too. My Nephrologist told me in Fall and this year that my #kidneys have stabilized. ❤️ #ilovecarnivore

This is a bummer; everything I’d read about #Novavax was that it was superior to the MMR shots—especially for #immunocompromised folks.

Also, while we’re talking #vaccines, #Canada should be looking to rebuild our domestic vaccine production capacity in light of everything.

'Vaccinations alone may not protect immunocompromised patients'

"even if the vaccine has generated the production of antibodies"

"such individuals will need regular vaccine boosters to protect them and reduce the risk of infections that could be severe and also lead to new 'variants of concern' emerging"

"We know that immunocompromised individuals are particularly vulnerable to diseases such as COVID-19 […] Vaccinations offer some protection, but our study shows that only repeated vaccinations – often four or more – offer the necessary protection."
