#Canada’s Prime Minister #MarkCarney has arrived at the White House. He was greeted by #Trump.

The pair will meet in the Oval Office this afternoon, their first in-person interaction, where they will discuss #US – Canada relations. #Carney & Trump have spoken over the phone since Carney was elected as prime minister.

And the #IdiotInChief literally just posted this nonsense:

I look forward to meeting the new Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney. I very much want to work with him, but cannot understand one simple TRUTH — Why is America subsidizing Canada by $200 Billion Dollars a year, in addition to giving them FREE Military Protection, and many other things? We don't need their Cars, we don't need their Energy, we don't need their Lumber, we don't need ANYTHING they have, other than their friendship, which hopefully we will always maintain. They, on the other hand, need EVERYTHING from us! The Prime Minister will be arriving shortly and that will be, most likely, my only question of consequence.

#VeteransDay was originally called Armistice Day in the #UnitedStates to mark the end of #WWI. After #WWII & the #KoreanWar, it was renamed, & its scope was expanded to honor all US #military #veterans. Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday in May, specifically honors those who gave their lives for the country.

Trump said he would also label May 8, known as “V-E Day” for “Victory in Europe”, as “Victory Day for World War II,” to commemorate the end of #WWII, but, clearly unbeknownst to the #IdiotInChief, only the war in #Europe came to an end in May. The Americans—quite famously—continued to fight the Japanese until August 1945.
