JennyMitcham<p>I took many many pages of notes last week at <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/ipres2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ipres2024</span></a>. I genuinely ended up with a problem with the index finger on my right hand. Not sure if that was 100% linked to too much typing but it is very annoying (that index finger is really very useful). Anyway, I have since ordered a new wireless and soft touch keyboard and the difference is amazing - I can type again! Should have got one pre-conference and saved myself some pain!</p>
Leontien Talboom<p>Last week, Tyler Thorsted, <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://digipres.club/@archivist_Liz" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>archivist_Liz</span></a></span>, Chris Knowles and I did a workshop on imaging obscure floppy disk formats at <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/ipres2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ipres2024</span></a> <br>As part of this workshop we produced a guide, which is available on Zenodo! </p><p><a href="https://zenodo.org/records/13828372" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">zenodo.org/records/13828372</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>

Archivist Liz<p>Still thinking about the final keynote from <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/ipres2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ipres2024</span></a>. Did anyone else feel funny about property law being the possible solution to obtuse licensing practices, etc? This feels potentially very exclusionary and reinforcing income inequality. There are so many aspects of life where ownership is a hurdle to people. I’m certainly no legal scholar, but why are approaches focusing on the commons not an option or not the preferred option? (And yes, there are reasons to critique the commons as well.)</p>
wzhkevin<p>Finally arrived home in Singapore after a wonderful three weeks of hiking, exploring, and <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/ipres2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ipres2024</span></a>. Archivist Liz<p>Really wished I’d had more time to explore Ghent, but I’m really glad I went on the boat tour at <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/ipres2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ipres2024</span></a>. It was a great way to decompress and see at least a bit of the city</p>
