If any addresses apart from the primary login address the account uses are present, it will fail with an "invalid address" error. Once it's validated the primary address, THEN you can add alternates back.To be clear, this happens even if the primary address is the one ticked.

Aqi DragoIf anyone has problems with Face ID after the 17.6.1 iOS update try a FORCE RESTART. What worked for me, after also getting that recommended through Apple chat support, was a force restart. Press and release on the left side of your phone the Volume Up button 1 second, then the Volume Down button 1 second (one after the other not at the same time) and finally press and hold the right side button until the Apple symbol appears. Do NOT use the Power Off slider. I was able to reset my Face ID afterwards without any problems.
