What software/tools are you all using for creating (simple) visual timelines?

I need to create some overviews for my #History and #Latin students on a regular basis and am pretty unsatisfied with my solutions so far (drawing them in LibreOffice Draw or make them by hand and scan them). Searching for other solutions myself has not brought up suitable results so far. Ideally the tool would convert a list of dates into a preselected timeline style.
