The past two weeks I've done the bulk of my shopping at Lucky's as Safeway never lowered their prices when everyone else did. I've estimated I've spent roughly $200 more a month this year compared to last year.

But, there's a few items that I prefer to buy at Safeway, and I went there this morning.

My luck, they had sale prices on practically everything this week AND in some cases they're cheaper than Lucky's. Lucky's from what I can tell, has gone up in pricing, basically matching Safeway for many, but not all items.

So 😐

It'll be interesting to see if pricing fluctuates, as I expect tariffs will have some affect.

I did notice that eggs are $6.99 at Safeway for a dozen (finally!), but completey sold out. You can only buy 18 packs at $10, which is what the 12 packs were about a week ago.

Anyone else notice 12 packs of soda are creeping up? Almost $12 now.

Target still has the best pricing overall, but is farther away from me and unfortunately they do not offer the same selection.

As a result, #JeromePowell said, the central bank is "well positioned to wait for greater clarity" before considering any reduction in interest rates.

#Trump called Powell's report a "complete mess," arguing "Oil prices are down, groceries (even eggs!) are down, & the USA is getting RICH ON TARIFFS."

While oil prices have fallen in response to fears of a global economic slowdown, #grocery prices actually rose last month….The price of #eggs jumped nearly 6% Feb to March….

For weeks, #Trump has repeatedly boasted that his admin had managed to bring #EggPrices down. But new data on Thurs showed that egg #prices at the #grocery store continued to climb in March.

Egg prices rose 5.9% over the month, acc/to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics [#BLS]. They climbed at a slower rate, though, after rising 10.4% in February & 15.2% in January.

Compared with a year earlier, the price of #eggs is up 60.4%.

Well done folo on the closing of the downtown grocery in Minnesota's capital city. Feat. chihuahua Peligroso.

"City leaders said they are determined to get a grocer inside the space on the corner of Robert and East 10th streets. No contenders have been named to date, but [city council president Rebecca] Noecker said the city is not limiting the field: it will consider co-ops, local stores or national chains.

"Lunds & Byerlys said it will partner with the city and landlord to keep store equipment and infrastructure in place for a future grocery store.

"The new grocer will be looking at a different St. Paul than the one Lunds faced its opening year in 2014. The downtown population back then was 5,000, according to the Downtown Alliance. Today, it’s nearly 10,000 residents."

MPR News · Downtown St. Paul Lunds & Byerlys closes, leaving neighborhood without grocery storeBy Regina Medina

This is a man who has never fed himself.

He’s been weird about this for months.

#Trump: "I inherited a groceries situation. The groceries went way up. An old fashioned word, but it's a very descriptive word."

What is he talking about?

They are literally called #grocery stores, everyone who doesn’t have butlers, maids, & chefs uses the word #groceries.
