going to start cracking down on Web to Gopher proxies accessing gopher://baud.baby again - as long as they let Web search engines spider my shit I'll continue to do this.

fair warning, if this is the only way you access my content it's time to, as they say in the funny pages, shit or get off the pot. commit or live without.

TIL MacOS9lives also has a #gopher mirror and that's just cute (and useful if you want to download stuff easily). Of course HotWire is a better solution I guess but it doesn't look as old. And old is cute.

The first part of the new catalog generator is complete. There's a little more work up front to get it running, but the goal is for it to work more consistently.

The next phase is adding syndication to it. You'll be able to subscribe not just to a feed of all new ebooks, but also subscribe per-author.

The third phase would be porting the script to work with my #gemini capsule and #gopher hole.

The Boulder #payphone has been getting a lot of attention online. I heard from a few people who were planning to call it. I drove by this afternoon, and as I walked up the payphone was ringing. I ended up having a nice, five-minute conversation with a person in a completely different part of the country.

The payphone offered an unexpected kind of #thirdspace, and the kind of human connection we need more of in 2025.

Check it out at workingpayphones.com Also on #gemini and #gopher

We at #hispagatos revamped our #blog and #gemlog [http|gemini] and posted the #announcement to #usenet check it out! Also created a new entry on it related to most of the #projects we have been working on in #2025 there are more news but this ones are the most relevant!

@kelbot Then there was #Gopher. There was something freeing about its structure, you know? A document is a document, a menu is a menu, and a search box is a search box, and they are different things. I built a WAP/WML (let's see how many people remember THAT) frontend to Gopher back in the early 2000s and that was pretty cool. Gemini is a nice successor, though if you're going to have in-document hyperlinks, might as well make linkable text while you're at it, I figure.

I'm writing a blog post about #gopher space, and setting up a gopher hole. Tonight I found a teensy, tiny little mistake you can make that can really mess things up for you.

This will be especially helpful if, like all Mastodonians, you are writing some kind of static site generator.
