Huge thanks to Dinux for donating a canopy to The Genital Autonomy Collective! 💛💜 This increases accessibility tabling at events like Pride to raise awareness for Hadachek v. Oregon, a case fighting to expand the genital cutting ban to all children, including circumcision of those assigned male at birth and intersex kids.

This case has deep implications for trans, intersex, and gender-diverse folks. Our shared fight is for *intersectional* bodily autonomy, and Oregonians have a unique chance to lead the way.

GAC offers uniquely intersectional advocacy opportunities and support groups for those impacted:
autonomycollective.org/groups.

I’ll also be using the canopy for local mutual aid when not tabling. Thank you again for supporting this work!

# Hadachek v. Oregon Intact Global 2025 Press Conference
Please let me know if you find more news coverage on this. We at the Genital Autonomy Collective spoke about intersectionality at the Intact Global 2025 press conference and hopefully some of the news will also mention that. The Hadacheck v. Oregon case will expand opportunities for trans, intersex, and gender diverse people in ways that more people need to be aware of. Circumcision impacts gender affirming surgery options, and impacts our freedom as well, and we're fighting with the broader genital autonomy movement for our shared rights.

An excerpt from my speech:
"Genital cutting is often talked about in the categories of male, female, and intersex, but those categories are not distinct in reality. People inherently defy those arbitrary boundaries. Because of this, many of the children assigned male at birth and subjected to penile circumcision, or other childhood genital cutting, are transgender, intersex, and otherwise gender-diverse
... Circumcision, by removing genital tissue and creating scars, physically limits options for adults seeking genital surgery. This stands in the way of our freedom to make the choice for ourselves as adults just like it does for boys and men. We are working with the intactivist movement for our shared freedom." youtube.com/live/S4-Cva6dVu4?s

With attention and advocacy opportunities the challenge is bringing, The Genital Autonomy Collective is in need of more volunteers to help. Please message me if you're interested in supporting intersectional genital autonomy for all children in Oregon. While we welcome help of all kinds, we specifically need help with: Graphic design, web design, contacts with press, fundraising, social media management, writing, non profit experience, academic research opportunities, tabling events, etc.

Intact Global is also looking for Intersex plaintiffs who have experienced Intersex related genital cutting in Oregon at any date to add to the Equal Protection Challenge against forced, non-religious genital mutilation. As well as trans plaintiffs who have experienced penile circumcision in Oregon to add to the legal challenge.

Please email me at Allie@autonomycollective.org if you'd like to come forward as a plaintiff or are interested in volunteering. If you're in need of support on violated genital autonomy or would like to help advocate you can join a group at our website: autonomycollective.org/groups.

Alliana,
Founder of the Genital Autonomy Collective

The #trump administration is accused of engaging in political interference when sending notices to Australian universities asking them to justify research funding.

The questionnaire included questions on recognising two sexes.

The Australian Government is asking the administration to explain.

A Map of #GenderDiverse Cultures

By Independent Lens • August 12, 2015

This text and the language in the corresponding map was updated in consultation with a world gender expert* in October, 2023.

NOTE to teachers and students: Some school or corporate domains block custom Google Maps so you may need to log in under a different or personal email address to see the map.

"Throughout recorded history and since time immemorial, thriving cultures have recognized, revered, and integrated more than two genders. Terms such as transgender, gay, or bisexual are Western constructs that often assume three things: that there are only two sexes (male/female), as many as three sexualities (gay/straight/bisexual), and only two genders (man/woman).

"Even after the end of the modern era and as the colonial period wanes, hundreds of distinct Indigenous societies around the globe still retain their own long-established traditions for third, fourth, fifth, or more genders. The subject of Two Spirits, Fred Martinez, for example, was not a boy who wanted to be a girl, but both a boy and a girl—an identity his Navajo culture recognized and revered as nádleehí. Meanwhile, Hina of Kumu Hina is part of a native Hawaiian culture that has traditionally revered and respected mahu, those who embody both male and female spirit. It’s not uncommon for third gender people to perform critical spiritual and religious functions in their communities.

"Among many #Indigenous societies, two prominent features often distinguish the lives and social roles of third gender persons from those of cisgender persons or contemporary transgender persons in non-Indigenous societies. The first is that many Indigenous terms for third gender people contain both the word for 'man' and 'woman' in their construction, and that third gender people are seen as embodying both of those genders in diverse ways. The second is that the history of many third genders is in the community role of religious specialists, which also takes diverse forms, depending on the beliefs of diverse cultures. While not all third gender persons are defined in these terms, across our species, this phenomenon of the third gender religious specialist, healer, or spiritual worker has been part of our collective identity and human experience since time immemorial.

"Take a tour with this world map, and learn how many cultures see gender diversity."

Independent LensInteractive Map: Gender-Diverse CulturesOn nearly every continent, and for all of recorded history, thriving cultures have recognized, revered, and integrated more than two genders.

I've been wanting to create a sort of collective to help gender-diverse psych abuse survivors.

Like really helping them. With everything from housing, money, support groups, service dogs, patient advocacy, information and other resources.

From the moment the #justiceforjean petition started to pick up traction, link in bio, (CW), I started to realize fund raising might actually be an option and I immediately started dreaming of starting a fund/charity/org to help get gender-diverse patients in MA service dogs.

I feel like it's SO needed…it would save and improve soooo many lives… and I sense it's something people could really get behind donating to…who doesn't like puppies?

Anyone interested? Pls boost for visibility!
