One of the things that can be really confusing when using #DavinciResolve and in particular #Fusion is that the internal colour channels can quite happily contain impossible values: negative values and values greater than 100%, that can't be displayed in the viewer.
At the moment I'm working with particle systems, and using the pGradientForce tool to move them around based on the output of the fastNoise tool. I was getting confused until I looked at the output of the fastNoise in the scopes: it produces levels below 0 and above 100%.
This leads me to another tip: use the scopes, they can really help sort out what's going on. The button to turn them on is on the top left of the viewer window
