Using #firearms cases like these is legal permission for police to harass you, because they are permitted to assume what is in the box is what is advertised by explicit imprint or the general shape. The same is true of generic rifle cases that look like rifle cases. Don't give them the opportunity. #RTKBA

I have always said that one should never speak or write in specifics, especially not online, about *whether* one has #firearms, let alone what specific types, whether or not one carries firearms in public, let alone how.

These practices are legal in most places in America, and many of us believe we not only have a *right* to do these things, but a *duty* to do so, and for that reason, it is responsible for us to talk openly about the realities of responsible firearms ownership and carry.

I don't know why this never occurred to me before, but I just thought of something.

As a woman with an interest in subjects like #firearms, EDC (everyday carry), logistics, survival/preparedness, fashion, travel, #RTKBA and politics and law in general, and product design, and who likes to write about these things online, I have always had a policy of refraining from speaking in specifics about firearms online.

> Son of a Gun: What to Do with a Legacy of (Unwanted) Firearms texasobserver.org/son-of-a-gun

This may be of interest for some: what happens when a family member has guns, and guess what, you are inheriting them. Now what? In my case, I have at least one family member who owns guns but my guess is they likely will have their children inherit. Whether the kids keep them or not is another story.

The Texas Observer · Son of a Gun: What to Do with a Legacy of (Unwanted) FirearmsI love my dad; I don’t love his guns.

People in masks are kidnapping Americans off the street. Some of these people claim to be ICE agents--also problematic, because ICE's jurisdiction to do this is not established--but who the fuck knows? Random dudes in masks are grabbing people.

Also, people are being sent to hell-prison in another country with no due process, even when the US regime admits they have done nothing wrong.

Purely hypothetically (I am definitely not a person who would do any of this):

  1. Wondering what happens if someone getting snatched, or a helpful onlooker, pulls out a legally registered firearm and shoots the attacker, who is not identified as law enforcement in any way except verbally and who is not following anything remotely like due process for arrests.

  2. Wondering what happens if a bunch of ex-special forces folks or whatever stage a wild prison break in El Salvador and free a bunch of Americans or American residents. Of course El Salvador would get pissy but what would/could the US do? There was no legal basis for sending them there in the first place.

Overall, I'm just wondering what the legal/practical landscape is, now that our government is explicitly violating laws in ways that hurt innocent people. What happens if people legally fight back? What happens if people fight back in ways that aren't legal but are also arguably not illegal?

This whole thing is a can of all the fucking worms.

(Note: I know that the real answer to the first scenario is probably "ICE, the president, and cops come down on the person like a ton of bricks and neither Congress nor the courts will defend them even when they have behaved lawfully").

I figured it was time to write a weblog post breaking down the political and illogical farce of Trudeau's executive actions on firearms these last few years.

You probably won't see many posts like this from the far left, but as the saying goes: "When you go far enough left, you get your guns back."

Oh yeah, I should put a link instead of spending all of my time writing an alt-text on that free Tornado spud-gun advert that doesn't even link anywhere.

I went from going to #firearms ranges at least once a month to disliking almost all firearms. I'd never use a #handgun again. If I ever used any firearms again, it would be a #rifle & only out of genuine necessity - not 'just for fun'.

I abhor firearms for the most part now because of a few reasons. I disliked the misogynistic shit at ranges a lot. I disliked the racism/bigotry in many firearms addicted social communities. I didn't like the egos of many in those communities. I don't believe I need a firearm to actually defend myself against a home invader - which is the excuse many people use to obtain one or more guns. I don't like the environmental pollution that spent ammo leaves on the lands - most people don't pickup their casings at ranges or outside of ranges.

I can shoot several different firearms well. I have access to a few firearms. I just choose not to use any of them anymore.
