So received my Summer schedule at work and it's a complete joke. Sat-Mon and I'm being put back on the front desk. I thought I was kicked off it for being mediocre at it and my supervisor having to bail me out every five seconds. Also a great heaping of anxiety and stress.
Anyway because of this fuckery, I'm being forced to conserve my convention time. I set up a poll of the cons I am looking to go to. Feel free to vote.

Last week, I had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion about bridging the talent gap in Sweden, which focused on employment issues for university students. This week, I am organizing a panel myself on AI: risks and opportunities for entrepreneurs. I don't know how, but I managed to invite some really great speakers. It's going to be a heated discussion!

SOCIAL HELP:

I have a friend (J) who recently started a new job doing something they love, but for minimum wage as a trainee position. Yesterday J got offered a permanent contract, for €x/month.

But out of 3 other folk J has spoken to, with similar qualifications, they got 8%, 11%, 16% more! (And the one who only got 8% more is working on a part time basis.)

J asked if there was room for negotiation and the company replied, "no."

J is feeling mistreated and even considering quitting but is otherwise feeling happy with the team.

Do you have any advice for J?

Edit: this is in Germany.
