Really excited to share this image for #MountainMonday today. I took this image on my first ever trip to #Europe last year. We ventured to the #Mountains in Northern Italy for some hiking where we were greeted with freshly snow capped mountains. It made for an incredible welcome to our trip to this area.
This image has become one of my favorites from the trip. Hopefully I will return someday.

Another favourite image from my 30+ year photographic career. For the final phase I’m going to run through the original images on which the covers of my novels are based. I did Three Kinds of North earlier so this is for The Sundering Wall. It’s Monte Paterno (Paternkofel) in the Dolomites.

The Da Vinci Glow
A 26 hour old Moon poses behind the craggy outline of the Italian #Dolomites in this twilight mountain and skyscape. The one second long exposure was captured near moonset on March 30. And while only a a sliver of its sunlit surface is visible, most of the Moon's disk can be seen by earthshine as light reflected from a bright planet Earth illuminates the lunar nearside.

Via #CNN - March 21, 2025
The northern #Italian region known as #Trentino, or officially the Autonomous Province of #Trento, will pay residents of #Italy or Italians living abroad €100,000 to renovate one of the many abandoned houses in the region where the #Dolomites meet the #Alps.
The catch?
Anyone who signs up to the deal has to live there for 10 years or rent the property out for that length of time, or risk having to pay back the grant.
