Has #NoahsArk been found?

Did #RonWyatt really find the #Ark of #Noah in #Turkey? Is the #Durupinar site actually the resting place of Noah's Ark?

How did one nurse anesthetist with zero #archaeological training fool millions into believing he'd discovered the #biblical vessel near #MtArarat?

Let's expose the truth behind Ron Wyatt's Noah's Ark #hoax and #debunk his #pseudoarchaeological #claims.

I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I believe lies that I've read or heard on the internet or other places. I know because I periodically encounter proof that something I believe is completely wrong. So often that it doesn't even surprise me anymore. When I trace it back, I was lied to, either by accident or maliciously. That's why I love "debunking" content, because there are kind people out there holding the line against bullshit in the "post-truth" era. Stay skeptical.

FYI: The "Dunning Kruger Effect" doesn't exist. It turned out the data of the study wss misinterpreted at the time.
It only says we all think we're above average when comparing ourselves with others, no matter how smort we actually are.

(Yes, the politics hashtag is relevant, considering how many people love to argue with this today based on that. :D )

(While we're at it: "Stockholm Syndrome" also isn't real.)

Psychology TodayDunning-Kruger Isn't RealWhat's the problem with the psychology effect the internet loves? And what does it mean for science reform?

Not my usual topic, but here’s a pattern I’ve noticed:

How to talk like a climate denialist:

1. Start with a myth, e.g., "humans emit only a small % of CO2" or "scientists don't agree."
2. When debunked, dismiss scientific consensus as bogus.
3. Next, claim the scientific method is flawed.
4. Fall back on "common sense" or "practical wisdom".
5. Finally, invoke conspiracies about free speech, bribed scientists, or hidden agendas.

"OPCW inspectors found no evidence to support allegations of a Syrian government chemical weapons attack in the city of Douma in April 2018. But their findings were suppressed, and the team was sidelined"
There was no chemical weapons attack. It suited the usual actors. Video embedded in the article

WIRED · 6 Common EV Myths and How to Debunk ThemBy Jonathan M. Gitlin, Ars Technica

DAMN IT, #DNC! You are GIVING AWAY #Texas AGAIN.

The local news last night: "52% of #Latino voters says they have not been contacted by ANYONE" from either campaign.

And here are the issues Latino #Voters claim is most important to them (leaning #Conservative):

#Debunk the "#DonTheCon was good for the economy" myth and you WIN TEXAS (84% of Texas #Hispanics vote, 23% of the total vote.)

STOP CEDING *WINNABLE* TEXAS TO THE #GOP. #TexasIsWinnable

(more in ALT Text.)

FACTS:

1) NO IMMIGRANTS ARE EATING DOMESTIC PETS, this is a lie!

2) NO BABIES ARE BEING KILLED BY DEMOCRATS, this is a lie!

Spreading these lies dehumanizes the groups named and puts them in danger. This is an ugly, evil way to manipulate people who believe whatever you say.

If you see these lies anywhere, help DEBUNK THEM PUBLICLY!
