A narcissus plant in the woods, bigger around than most with many leaves and several flowers. Two flowers face the camera. Their outer petals are white and the center cup which is shallow is orange-yellow with a deeper orange ruffly edge. On the ground around it are brown winter leaves and some fresher greens while behind it many trees are visible but none of them are large in diameter, suggesting they have grown up in the many years since this bulb was planted, maybe in a garden at the time. Whatever hands dug the hole and put it there couldn't know the future or the gift they gave us.

Few more pics. When we moved in (2012) there was maybe half what we have now. I’ve just kept splitting and moving the clumps around, spreading them throughout the entire wooded area. Definitely need to do some more of that again. I keep saying I want to add more variety but I never get around to that. The wooded area used to be full of honeysuckle which I ripped out. (Please excuse the mossy yard, too much shade.)

Daffodils out back are also poppin’!

Right now we have the mini white ones and the white ones with the yellow center. The double “fluffy” peach ones and the standard yellow ones are all spent. I don’t see any of the mini yellow ones yet, which we also usually have. I think they bloom last.

It’s hard to see just how many we have— but there’s literally over 100 separate clumps back here (I counted twice and got 110 and 114 lol, it’s difficult to keep track).
