I started doing this different approach for #cleaning up rooms in a house. It reduces the mental stress while also assuring me that I don't have to do as much immediate work.

Using tallies.

in each room I'l put a peace of paper, with tallies. One time that I step in a room, would add one tally to the total.

and instead of tallying up to 5, i'l tally up to 3. 3 tallies means it is time to clean up *that room.

Each room has it's own sip of paper where I mark down the tallie of how many times I walk in a room.

Once a tally for one room is complete for a day, then no more tallie to add up to that room untill the next day.

You can try restricting the amount of times you have to clean a room based off of the tallys per week.

The idea is to reduce the emediate stress feeling of having to clean up a bunch of rooms, while also giving you feedback to clean a room with good activity that might need it.

Here I am posting another #TipOfDay, what the heck—why not, in the face of pervasive societal anxiety and continuing traumas as fascism coalesces daily. Here’s a teeny tiny bright spot I enjoy and have a bit of control over. I finally have my full arsenal of household cleaning brushes. Latest ones include the crevice brush and a new favorite the small slim white brush with stiff bristles that go over the top and continue on a curve back down. This one is perfect for all the percolator filter basket parts. Great to get coffee grounds out of this filter basket with small slits. #Brushes #Cleaning

I burned a pot making stew (rescued the stew, all good) and I was NOT looking forward to scrubbing it. But I remembered seeing a thing on the interwebs last year that suggested boiling lots of water with a dishwasher capsule in it to lift the burned bits up.

10/10 all of the burned bits came off really easy after boiling for 10 mins with dishwasher detergent.

PS. it helps to occasionally scrape the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon while the detergent water is boiling.

#reinigung #cleaning #gewerkschaft stern.de/gesellschaft/lohn--ei

This is a well designed piece of research. It finds, unsurprisingly, that better cleaning = fewer hospital acquired infections = reduced costs.

How astonishing that such an argument needs to be made!

If we had more #respect for the #work done by #cleaners the connection between how well resourced they are to do their work, & outcomes for patients & costs to the hospital, would be obvious to all of us. Even hospital administrators.

When cleaning is contracted out & budgeted through line items that are separate from those used for clinical services, perverse incentives are created to ‘economise’ on non-clinical functions to improve a notional bottom line. I would guess something like this is at play here.

As is so often the case, the funding model is the problem. #health #hospitals #cleaning

Good morning tooters, welcome to #Friday & a lovely day ahead. It’s around 14c right now & heading to a rather warm & sunny 29c.
Yesterday didn’t go to plan at all, too much faffing around by me meant I didn’t do my balance class, nor did I go swimming 🤷🏼‍♀️. I did make my new little inground composter & set that up & moved the other inground composter I have, to a new spot. So I did actually do something but it was certainly a very slack day for me compared to my usual.
This morning is clean & dust the house & then head for a swim, probably straight after lunch. Young Miss 7 was going to be spending the day with me, but decided she wanted to go to work with her Daddy instead. He’s a concreter, so I think she will get very messy 😂, but she’ll enjoy her one on one time with him.
Hope everyone has a fabulous #Friday, enjoy the day 🌻.

Btw I’m sure some folks are waiting for the exciting conclusion of washing my runner that was dreadfully dirty and clogged with ground-in dog hair. Ta-da, here it is and look it’s not just all dirty gray and beige. A pattern even! If interested the photos and story was in my posts yesterday afternoon. #Cleaning

Here is that same dirty gray and tan carpet runner now soaking in the utility sink outside. This is the second soak. The first soak I used only water. Drained it and now soaking in Super Washing Soda. One more soak with a light detergent coming up next. #Cleaning #TipOfDay
