As we were about to board our #flight from Sana’a, about three hours ago (around 5 pm local time), the airport came under aerial #bombardment. One of our plane’s crew members was injured. At least two people were reported killed at the airport.

The air traffic control tower, the departure lounge — just a few meters from where we were — and the runway were damaged. This is difficult to do, but I am asking my #community for your #support and #generosity to help my #family in #Gaza. My family has made the extremely difficult decision to flee their beloved #homeland after four months of constant #bombings, #violence, and #starvation. I am #fundraising for eight members of my family to evacuate Gaza and seek #safety and #stability.

My family was #violently #displaced from their home in #GazaCity and are now living in #Rafah in a tent structure with little #food, no potable #water, no #electricity and no access to necessary #medicine or care for my diabetic uncle. The eight people includes my cousin's four month old #baby, born during this #bombardment. Every day is a struggle for #survival as they must #scavenge for food and wood for cooking while simultaneously being #surrounded by #tanks and enduring constant bombardment.

I have started this fundraising campaign because it has become necessary for them to #evacuate to #Egypt for safety and stability. They have lost everything in this #war, including my uncle's business and the family's only source of income. He owned a beloved dessert restaurant in the community (Bubbles), which was destroyed early on.

Unfortunately, the cost of #escape and temporary #shelter in Egypt is more than my family or I can afford so I am relying on your generosity to help my family find some peace. This is for one branch of my family in Gaza, eight people, who are hoping to escape.

Your donation will get my family to safety and give them a chance to live a #dignified life. My family and I appreciate your #empathy and #compassion and I hope that I can transfer the funds as soon as possible as the situation in Rafah is continuing to worsen.
