Our guest bedroom is infrequently used as such and more so as a sewing room, so we got a Murphy bed that we just finished installing. It's more rustic than some beds we looked at, but my $SPOUSE and I agreed on it. It functions very well and has gas springs to assist opening and closing. When you open it, the desk portion stays level on the way down.
I've wanted a Murphy bed for years. There are some old fashioned designs that really are very sensible.
For better or worse, it won't flip an occupant up into the wall like 3 Stooges movies implied. #furniture #murphyBed #bed
