I've just published a new page on my website documenting the last 3 months on an art residency exploring fire through the plant aiteann (gorse) and its relationship to sitka spruce: https://shanefinan.org/VAP/15_aiteann.html
This was part of the international research project investigating wildfires called FIRECULT. For the project, I created charcoal and made new drawings, made work with fire, and created two new video artworks.
We can finally share with you our fourth iPO 2025 call, dedicated to a two-months co-creation residency that we organise in collaboration with Antre Peaux (Bourges, France)!
This residency is aimed at artists who wish to question current technological infrastructures to reveal both their vulnerabilities and potentialities. These artists engage in practices that seek to repair rather than produce, collaborate rather than consume, slow down to better anchor themselves, and cultivate networks of care, mutual aid, and trust within digital communities.

Although other funds have contributed to our work for Afghans, Crespo Foundation has been for 2 years the only source of funds to give Afghan artists the rest and respite, artistic context and networking opportunities of an AR-Residency in Europe, and Germany in particular.
